The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 781

Jasmine looked at Madelyn thoughtfully, and it made Madelyn a bit uneasy. Madelyn pretended she didn’t see it and thought, ‘My dad, Hayson, who raised me, is now being called my real dad’s killer. It seems like I don’t belong to the Jent family at all.’

All of this was overwhelming for Madelyn, including dealing with Jasmine and Samantha.

Before Zach could say anything, Madelyn spoke calmly, “If you’re in a hurry, we can finish the paperwork for the property transfer tomorrow. I’ll give you the mansion, and once all the papers are ready, I’ll move out quickly.

“As for child support, you should talk to Zach. After Zach bought the big house, he put it in Madelyn’s name. Even though Hayson was gone, Jasmine was still technically his wife. Madelyn didn’t see any reason not to give her the mansion.

Madelyn had no plans to get involved in Zach and Jasmine’s affairs. She thought, ‘Jasmine wants Zach, and it’s not my business if he wants to support her daughter.’

Madelyn took Dalton from Zach’s arms and headed upstairs. As she climbed the stairs, she glanced at Samantha playing in the garden. Her expression was a bit gloomy; she had suspected she was Zach’s child.

Zach watched Madelyn walk away with Dalton. Once she disappeared around the corner of the stairs, Zach turned to Jasmine with a cold stare, “Was that enjoyable for you?”

Jasmine casually smiled and ran her hand, adorned with lots of jewelry, over Zach’s chest. Her eyes, with their elegant slant, had a seductive look, ” I’ve done a lot to help you with Hayson’s situation, and I’ve even given birth to his child. And now you just want to abandon us?

“You’re a cold-hearted man.”

Zach forcefully pushed Jasmine’s hand aside, causing her to stumble and nearly fall. He warned, “You’re pushing your luck, aren’t you? If you want trouble, I can help you find it.”

Zach’s gaze turned icy as he addressed a servant, “Get rid of the food that’s been eaten and prepare fresh ones.” His intimidating eyes sent shivers down the servant’s spine. The servant was frightened. She immediately nodded, “Okay, Mr. Jardin.

As Zach started to head upstairs, he was unexpectedly hit by a soft toy from behind. A young voice accused, “Why did you push my mom? You’re a mean person!”

Jasmine’s heart raced as she swiftly pulled Samantha, who had run up to confront Zach. Her body trembled as she shielded her child.

Zach’s demeanor turned seriously intense. Jasmine was in a panic and pleaded, She’s just a child. If you want to take it out on someone, do it to me, not her.”

Zach’s expression remained cold. When Jasmine saw him walk away, she finally calmed down and hugged Samantha with lingering fear.

She thought, ‘I’ve been with Zach for many years. I know every look and move he makes. Just now, he really looked like he could hurt Samantha. I won’t let anyone harm her. Nobody.”

Meanwhile, Madelyn returned to her room, and Margaret wasn’t there to help. She had to handle everything on her own. She turned on the air conditioner, then gave Dalton a bath in the bathroom. It wasn’t too hard, and he didn’t cry much. Madelyn’s shirt did get a bit wet during the process.

After the bath, Madelyn wrapped him in a towel and placed him on the bed. She then tidied up the bathroom. Even though she had been busy for just a short while, she started to feel a little lightheaded.

At some point, Zach entered the room. He mimicked Madelyn, playing with Dalton to bring a smile to the child’s face. Afterward, he shifted his gaze toward Madelyn as she left the room.

“I’ll take care of the matter with Jasmine,” he said.

Madelyn responded, “Alright.”

She thought, ‘I have no right to interfere in how he handles the matter. Even if he wants to take care of Samantha, who is not my real sister, it’s none of my business either.’

Madelyn opened a drawer, grabbed a few pills, and took them with a sip of water.

Zach asked, “Why have you been taking medication so often lately? Isn’t your health getting better?”

He put the child on the baby’s bed before walking over to take the medication and looked at the descriptions.

“It’s just some supplements for my blood and energy,” Madelyn casually replied.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
