The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 736

The medicine took effect quickly. After receiving a call, Kevin drove Yvonne back to the Young residence and showed her some alarming photos. The images showed Ethan looking severely injured, and it distressed her deeply.

“How could anyone do this to my son? Zach Jardin, you monster!” Although Frida was already mentally fragile, seeing the pictures heightened her anguish. Kevin, keeping his composure, said, ” You’re aware of what Mr. Jardin wants, aren’t you?”

With emotion in her voice, Frida replied, “Is he doing all this for the Arnold residence?”

Kevin merely smiled, affirming her guess.

“I’ll give it to him. But he has to stop hurting Ethan.” Frida retrieved the long -stored deed from upstairs and handed it to Kevin. “I want my son. Whatever he demands, it’s his.”

Kevin accepted the deed. “You’ll have him back in three days.”

“Three days? I need him back now, Kevin!” As Frida tried to chase Kevin, her high heels betrayed her, causing her to trip. A nearby maid was quick to assist.

“Hang in there, Ma’am. Ethan will be just fine. And don’t forget your meds – YTCorp depends on you.” What the maid said reignited Frida’s spirit. “Right. I’ve got my company, my home.”

She realized Zach never planned to team up with the Youngs; he wanted everything for himself. She might have confronted him in the past, but now, with the Arnold residence gone and Ethan at risk, she would not dare. Her feelings of guilt toward Ethan overshadowed everything she owned. She had always been distant with her son. To protect him, she would even let go of YTCorp. If it ensured Ethan’s safety, she would sacrifice it all.

As Kevin prepared to exit, Cecilia stepped forward. “Give it to me. I’ll take it to Zach.”

Kevin shook his head. “I can’t, Ms. Samford. Mr. Jardin didn’t instruct me to hand it to you.” He then left the Young residence, making his way to the hospital.

Cecilia’s expression hardened. ‘Zach, after everything I’ve done for you, this is how you treat me? Without my help, you wouldn’t even be in your current position. Cross me, and you’ll regret it.’

When Kevin got to the hospital, Zach was applying medicine to Madelyn. Hearing a knock, Zach said, “Come in.” As Kevin entered, Zach positioned himself to shield Madelyn.

“Mr. Jardin, I’ve got what you asked for, “Kevin said. Zach replied with a flat tone, “Wait outside.”

“Alright.”

Madelyn bared one shoulder, her pale skin contrasted with her hair, which was swept to the side. Zach gently applied the medicine, making sure not to hurt her. With a hint of concern in her eyes, she asked Zach, “Did you do something bad again?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
