Zach responded, “If you want to go back there, I’ll take you back there in the future.”

Zach entered the password before he pressed down the door handle. As soon as the door was opened, a familiar scent overwhelmed their senses. It was the perfume that Madelyn had used before. The scent was fresh and sweet. She used to put this perfume in the front passenger seat too, but it was later thrown into the trash can by Zach.

When they entered the apartment, the newly purchased furniture was all neatly arranged. The pink sofa stood out. Zach said, “We’ll have maids coming regularly to do the household chores. In the future, you can cook for me every day and wait for me to come home.”

The house was indeed decorated with a homely atmosphere. Everything was decorated according to Madelyn’s preferences. However, she did not feel happy at all. Zach continued saying, “If you want to draw, I’ve specially prepared an art room for you.”

That art room was connected to Zach’s study. There were windows that covered a significant portion of the walls, so the lighting was great. Next to it was the master bedroom.

There were originally only three rooms. Apart from the master bedroom, one had been made into Madelyn’s exclusive dressing room, and the other into Zach’s gym room.

The bedroom displayed mostly photos taken without Madelyn’s knowledge. One of them showed her wearing a black shirt lying on the bed asleep. The end of the shirt only covered her tights.

Her hands were folded under her face. She looked like she was sleeping very peacefully. Her lower body featured a pair of long, sexy legs, with round toes. Any photo taken of her was an artistic photo.

Madelyn remembered this photo. Zach forcefully took it when they were in Portsmouth Fishing Village.

Looking at all those photos of her made her feel dizzy. She asked, “Did you have someone take these photos secretly?”

Zach’s warm breath scattered over Madelyn’s neck as he hugged her from behind. His hard body part was pressing against her butt. He was trying to arouse her. Zach responded, “You don’t like them? I can have someone else take the photos again.

“Do you want to try this bed? I picked it for you.”

He had not had sex with her for three days. As he smelled the scent of her body, he could not control himself anymore. He slipped his hand inside the V-neck collar of her dress and used his other hand to remove her jacket. He then undid the thin belt around her waist. Her silky long dress then slid down.

“Zach, you’re a perverted lunatic. You’re despicable and disgusting.”

Zach pinched her face and impatiently kissed her. His heavy breathing showed his intense desire for her. When Madelyn was panting from the kisses, she had already fallen onto the soft, new bed.

Her skirt had been lifted. After the kissing, Zach unzipped his pants and removed her panties. After a while, he started the act and caused Madelyn to feel a sharp pain. She gripped the bed sheets under her as she bit her lip waiting for the pain to fade away.

In an instant, things got out of control…

Madelyn was flipped over lying on her belly. She endured the act again and again…

After doing it several times, Madelyn’s vision darkened before she fell unconscious. The collarbone on her sexy, fair back was covered with painful marks.

Madelyn did not know how long she had been asleep. When she woke up, there was only a dim light on.

She looked at the pitch-black outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Besides feeling sore, she felt like every part of her body was uncomfortable. After a while, she lifted the blanket and got out of bed.

She picked up the clothes on the floor and walked to the bathroom before immersing herself in the water and used a towel to rub herself repeatedly until the marks were no longer visible.

Upon hearing the movements, Zach walked over from the study. When he did not see anyone on the bed, he coldly squinted. His expression eased when he noticed the lights on in the bathroom. He pushed the bathroom door open and immediately saw Madelyn bathing herself in a self-torturing manner.

A splash sound was heard as Zach went forward to grab her wrist to lift her up. He could then see her perfect, naked body. Her long hair stuck to her body with water still dripping down.

He sneered, “Don’t think that I’ll let you off just because you’re trying to hurt yourself. This is just the beginning.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
