The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 641

Zach reached for the switch and turned on the light. He glanced at the fallen cabinet and then looked at Madelyn, who was peacefully asleep on the bed, not aware he had come in.

Madelyn wore a white nightgown, with a light blanket just covering her waist. Her eyes were shut, her long lashes resting on her cheeks. Her legs showed. It was an enticing sight.

Quietly closing the door, Zach rubbed his tired eyes. He took off his jacket, placed it on the bed, and went to the bathroom.

In her sleep, Madelyn kind of heard the sound of the shower. She moved a little but quickly settled and went back to dreamland.

He sat down beside Madelyn, and although the mattress sank a bit under his weight, she continued to sleep soundly. He carefully drew her closer, and they were cocooned under the warm blanket.

Zach gently lifted the hem of Madelyn’s nightgown, his fingers softly caressing her smooth back, the contrast with his own rough hand stirring his desire even more. Once he was aroused there was no stopping him.

Madelyn was in a deep sleep because of the sleeping pills she had taken. She was completely unaware of the danger that lurked nearby. It wasn’t until she sensed a weight bearing down on her, accompanied by a stifling sensation as passionate kisses rained upon her, that her eyes began to flutter open. She heard her nightgown tearing.

“Zach?” Madelyn mumbled groggily, her voice soft and sweet. Zach’s lower body began to move, and she could not help but moan softly.

While he was at it, he pressed his lips to her forehead, her lips, her neck…

It lasted until they were both drenched in sweat. Zach gently scooped Madelyn up and took her to the bathroom for a quick wash. When he carried her back out, the gentle morning light was pouring in through the window. She lay in his arms, perfectly still, too exhausted to make even the tiniest move.

Zach had silenced Madelyn’s eight o’clock alarm when it went off, so when she finally woke up, it was already well past one in the afternoon.

Madelyn blinked her eyes open and saw Zach by the bed, calmly tying his tie. It reminded her of something from the past, something she used to see all the time. But it was something she shouldn’t see now.

She instantly woke up, sat up, and noticed she was now wearing fresh pajamas. Without a second thought, she grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. “You jerk!”

Zach didn’t dodge it; the pillow hit him lightly. He picked up a valuable watch from the bedside table and put it on his wrist. “I only took the morning off for you, and you’ve got forty minutes left before you’re late.”

Madelyn had no idea when he had come into the room. Last night, she had fallen asleep after taking sleeping pills.

When Madelyn got out of bed, her legs gave way unexpectedly, and she stumbled to the floor. There was a slight swelling in her lower body along with an odd cool sensation. Zach asked, “Do you need help?”

Madelyn bit her lip and shouted, “Just go away, you monster!”

She staggered into the bathroom, quickly freshening up. After using the toilet, Madelyn checked her lower body with her fingers and felt a surge of pain.

She washed her hands and then went to the closet next to the bathroom to change her clothes. But as she took a step out, Zach’s hand reached out and pulled her back.

Madelyn felt sore all over. “What else do you want?” she asked with an angry expression. “Haven’t you had enough?”

Without a word, Zach gently guided her to the bed and carefully lifted her skirt. Madelyn lay face down on the bed, feeling uneasy. “Zach, let go of me!”

“Be good, I’ll apply some medicine.”

“I can do it myself. Don’t touch me, Zach Jardin!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
