The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 565

After returning to the hotel, Donna gave Robin’s wound some basic first aid. He was exhausted after crying all along the way and eventually fell into a deep sleep. Robin felt extremely chilly when he woke up, “Mommy, what are you doing?”

In the bathroom, Donna poured cold water over his head, causing him to struggle and try to stand up in the bathtub. However, Donna pressed him down with one hand.

“Mommy, I’m so cold.” Robin shivered violently from the cold, and his body turned blue. He hugged himself tightly and trembled.

Donna smiled as she touched his hair, Robin, be a good boy and endure for a while. Listen to Mommy. Daddy will come to visit you very soon. After that, we can be together as a family, and you will have your Daddy soon.”

Robin widened his innocent eyes and nodded, “Okay. I’ll listen to you, Mommy.”

“Good boy. I’ll buy you your favorite ice cream later.”

“Okay!”

A room service attendant brought a basket of ice cubes. Then, Donna poured them all into the bathtub.

“Mommy, I feel really uncomfortable.”

“You’ll be fine in a little while.” After half an hour, Donna finally lifted Robin from the icy bath. She let him sleep naked on the couch in front of the window without even drying him off.

Robin developed a high fever at night, with a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. He fell into a state of unconsciousness, his whole body burning like a furnace. Donna rushed him to the hospital, and the doctor immediately administered a fever- reducing injection. By six in the morning, Robin’s condition had started to improve.

A nurse told Donna, “Your child’s fever has subsided. You may go downstairs to settle the bill and complete the discharge procedures in the afternoon.”

“Okay. Thank you, nurse,” Donna replied. The nurse found her face somewhat familiar but could not remember where she had seen her before.

After the nurse left the ward, Donna’s expression returned to its icy state. She gazed ruthlessly and frigidly at Robin, still attached to the intravenous drip. She murmured, “Don’t blame me for doing this. I have no other choice. I can’t just stand by and watch him marry someone else. If we want him to return to us, this is the only way.”

Donna left ruthlessly, leaving Robin alone and unattended. Time passed slowly, and the ward remained quiet.

In the luxurious private room of Supreme World, Hayson naturally should have sat in the main seat according to seniority. However, they were currently discussing business matters. In the business world, there were no father-son relationships. Moreover, with the Arnold family’s status in Ventropolis, anyone who came had to show respect.

“Mr. Arnold, is there really no room for negotiation?” Hayson moved the mala beads in his hand one by one. His facial expression remained calm, with a smile. There were no apparent signs of unusual emotions.

That was how Hayson was. He could easily flash a warm, sincere smile that made him seem harmless, like a genuinely good person. But when he let that mask slip, it was as if a bunch of dark, creepy-crawly maggots were revealed, which repelled people.

However, even though Ventropolis was his turf, he had to back down when dealing with Ethan Arnold.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
