The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 529

“Did he really go after Yvonne that fast? For connections with the Young family? Or was it for money? And how is Yvonne now different from before? If he gets his hands on her, she’s in big trouble,” Madelyn thought.

Zach stepped closer, brushing away the loose hair on Madelyn’s forehead. “It’s been so long. You don’t greet me anymore?”

Caught off guard, Madelyn could not react. A hint of a smirk appeared on Zach’s face. His deep-set eyes showed possessiveness, a hint of wildness feelings he seemed to hide. But Madelyn saw past his facade. Behind that smile was the real Zach, as dangerous as a wild animal. Taking a step back, she said, “I have things to do. I’ll see you later.”

Mya looked at Madelyn’s brother. When their eyes locked, his smile disappeared, turning into a sharp glare. Mya’s skin prickled with unease. Madelyn!” she called, hurrying to catch up. In a hushed voice, she asked, “Is Yvonne dating your brother?”

‘Is that really any of my business?’ Madelyn wondered. Twirling her fingers, Mya blurted, “If she becomes your sister-in-law because she’s dating your brother, and you’re seeing Yvonne’s brother, then what does that make her to you? This relationship web is making my head spin, Madelyn!” Her eyes sparkled with genuine puzzlement.

“Shh!” Madelyn cautioned, covering Mya’s mouth. They had not even left yet, and their voices had been loud. If anyone was nearby, they would surely have overheard. As they moved on, Mya almost had to run to match Madelyn’s brisk pace.

Yvonne smirked, her lips and nails painted a striking red. She turned to the older, more reserved man beside her. “So, Zach, how about it? Fancy a trip to Avalon with me? It’ll only be six months. But if that’s too quick, you can stick around till I get my business degree, and then we can head back together. For an opportunity like this, most people wouldn’t think twice.

I’ve got the money and the power to get you whatever you want. In Ventropolis, everyone would look up to you, and you’re easy on the eyes. So, right here… “Her finger trailed down his black shirt, stopping just above his waist, 11 Got a six-pack hiding there? Come on, Zach. Think about living the good life, indulging in the finest foods and drinks.

Yvonne’s tone was flirtatious and arrogant, treating Zach as if he was just a trophy on her arm. However, Zach was not having any of it. Grasping her wandering hand, he briefly glanced at her chest, then looked her straight in the eye with a piercing gaze. “If you’re trying to play games, you’ve picked the wrong guy.”

Zach, with one hand in his pocket, pressed his car key to unlock the door. Without looking back, he hopped in and sped off, leaving Yvonne staring at the car’s exhaust.

For Zach, gaining power and status was just a matter of time. There were things he craved more at the moment.

Watching his car disappear, Yvonne’s usually sharp eyes seemed a bit distant. She had left for France to try and forget him.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
