The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 500

Leaving his office, Zach and Kevin headed to the meeting room. Around six-thirty in the evening, Madelyn didn’t wear fancy clothes. She wore a matching outfit with Ethan, which he had picked out for them.

When Hayson and Jasmine arrived, Jasmine kindly held Madelyn’s hand and they walked into the hall, saying, ” I can’t believe you’re getting engaged so soon. I don’t have anything special to give you. If you don’t mind, take this bracelet. I bought it just for you.”

“Thank you, Jasmine,” Madelyn replied, not wanting to say no, though she still felt a bit uneasy about it.

Jasmine put the bracelet on Madelyn’s wrist. It was see-through and fancy, definitely expensive. The bracelet was clear and translucent. It was undoubtedly expensive.

In her mind, Madelyn thought, ‘Father must’ve bought it for Jasmine. Now that she’s carrying the Jent family heir, Father’s spoiling her, and she can buy anything she wants.’

Jasmine was wearing a tight dark green dress today, looking very classy. Her baby bump was easy to see.

Hayson and Ethan went into the study, and Madelyn couldn’t hear what they were talking about. When they came out, it was time for the banquet.

Hayson laughed heartily from upstairs, “Hahaha… Ethan, I trust Madelyn with you completely. I’ve spoiled her since she was little. If she ever acts like a child, I’ll leave it to you to take care of her.”

“Sure thing, Hayson.”

The two on the couch got up, and Madelyn walked over to Ethan. “Is everything ready?”

Ethan took Madelyn’s hand and nodded. “Yep.”

“What did you guys chat about?”

Ethan leaned in and whispered in her ear, “I’ll fill you in tonight.” Jasmine teased, “Oh, whispering secrets now, are we? Is there something you’re hiding from us?”

Madelyn blushed at just one word. “We didn’t talk about anything.” Ethan added, “Let’s take our seats. “George, where’s Evelyn?” Madelyn asked.

George replied, “She’s on her way, should be here soon.” This time, Hayson took the head seat at the table, with Madelyn and Ethan on the left, and Jasmine on the right.

Jasmine asked, “Oh, Hayson, what about Zach? Has he arrived yet?” Hayson replied, “He should be here soon. There might be some traffic.”

As Zach’s name came up, Ethan’s gaze shifted toward Madelyn, his eyes filled with uncertainty. Under the table, his hand gently squeezed Madelyn’s. “No need to be too nervous.

Madelyn mustered a smile. “I’m not.” She returned the squeeze, her palm feeling a bit sweaty. Just as she finished speaking, a commotion outside caught their attention, and a black Audi pulled up to the entrance.

A servant hurried forward to open the car door, and Zach and Jadie stepped out.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
