The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 480 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 480

Zach smiled faintly, making the aura around him even colder.

In Randall’s earlier years, he had made his fortune through mining. Later, he acquired an oil field, after which his wealth skyrocketed. After he migrated to Ventropolis, he had been living off his wealth, but this fortune that he made was more than enough to last him for several lifetimes. Even if he spent his money recklessly, he would not go broke. Zach said, “Words alone aren’t enough!

Randall seemed to have grasped a glimmer of hope. He crawled to Zach’s feet. He was unable to stand upright, “I can give you the land deed or a property transfer document. As long as you get me out of here, I promise you’ll never run out of money.”

“That does sound enticing…” Zach put down the pen. He gave Randall a condescending look, “Well, I’m not greedy. I want seventy percent shares of the oil field, and… All of your liquid assets and real estate.”

Randall’s pupils widened suddenly. He scolded Zach, “Zach Jardin! I’ve been too fucking generous to you already. Who do you think you are?! You used to be nothing more than a lapdog around me. If I didn’t agree to cooperate with you on the land in Alma, your Azure Corporation would just be a piece of garbage.”

Zach was not angry. He calmly took out a handkerchief to wipe off the saliva that had splattered onto his body. He got up and walked toward the door without speaking.

When Randall realized his mistake, he hurriedly stood up, “Wait! All right… I agree. But when I get out, you have to help me make a comeback.”

Zach turned around and said, “of course.

“Kevin.” Kevin walked in from outside. He was holding a stack of documents which he laid out on the table. There were three in total.

One of the documents was regarding twenty-six percent of Randall’s company shares. The remaining zero point one percent shares would still belong to Randall. This small percentage would yield annual dividends of at least several million dollars and would allow him to live quite comfortably in Ventropolis.

Another document pertained to real estate, and the third document was related to all of Randall’s liquid assets.

Kevin coldly looked at Randall. He patiently took out a sign pen, “All of these documents are legally valid, Mr. Burton. All you need to do is sign them and within three days, you’ll be able to leave this prison as you wish.”

Randall hesitated. His hands trembled as he held the pen and walked forward. Zach raised his wrist, “I’ll give you half a minute.”

Kevin said, “Mr. Burton, you should consider what’s more important, your life or these worldly possessions. You’ll have nothing without your life.”

Randall’s hand trembled. The pen dropped onto the table and he quickly signed the documents, shaken by what Kevin said. However, when he saw the recipient’s name, it was not Zach’s name, but just a very ordinary name instead.

Randall did not think too much about it. After he signed his name, he placed his thumbprints on the documents. Although he was reluctant to lose his possessions, he felt that his life was more valuable. Kevin put the documents into the briefcase.

Randall asked, “When are you planning to release me?” Kevin noticed Zach was signaling him with his eyes. He then took out a packet of caustic soda, a chemical cleaning agent, from his pocket and tossed it on the table.

Randall stared blankly at the packet of caustic soda. After Zach and Kevin left, Randall finally realized he had been tricked. He was extremely angry.

“Zach, you played me! Just wait… After I get out of here, I’ll make sure you have a miserable life.” As Randall cursed, a man in a black uniform approached from a dimly lit hallway outside the door. When Randall saw the face under the police cap, he yelled, You… It’s you! It’s actually you!”

The scar on Fred’s eyes resembled a terrifying centipede. He looked as cold and menacing as a devil from hell, Don’t worry, you’ll be out of prison very soon. It won’t take long.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
