The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 381

“N-No…,” Jadie struggled hard. “Babe, stop acting like a crude. I promise you won’t forget it once you’ve gotten a taste,” Randall said.

“Help me. Zach! Zach…,” Jadie twisted and turned as she watched Zach chatting away not far from her. However, just when it looked like someone heard her, another person came to block Zach’s view. Yvonne looked over but retracted her gaze indifferently.

Jadie felt hopeless as she was dragged into the pool with her mouth covered. She felt something touch her private areas. Just as Randall was excited about succeeding, he suddenly felt something was wrong with Jadie.

Jadie’s face was pale, and she was breathing with much difficulty. Randall immediately let go, and Jadie’s body went limp. She sunk to the pool floor without any struggle.

‘What the hell, is she having some kind of illness?!’ Randall thought. He was panicking and was worried he had murdered someone. He quickly exited the pool, but Jadie did not follow him. You can barely see her silhouette on the pool floor and her hair floating.

Zach looked at the dessert area and did not see Jadie there. His eyes immediately squinted. Yvonne smiled as she swirled the champagne in her glass, “I’ve helped introduce you to so many people and helped you close on a big deal. How do you plan to thank me?”

Just as Zach was looking for Jadie, a scream erupted from outside, “Ah! Someone’s in trouble!” The first thing that came to Zach’s mind was the missing Jadie. Without hesitation, he placed his wine glass on the table and rushed outside. When he arrived, he saw a group of people pulling Jadie out of the pool. He swiftly removed his coat and gently draped it over her body. His imposing presence made the onlookers step back in silence.

“Jadie, Jadie!” Zach shouted while patting her face. She showed no reaction, so Zach said to the onlookers, “Could you please call an ambulance.”

“S-Sure,” someone answered. Swiftly, many people surrounded the swimming pool. Yvonne walked over and saw Zach giving Jadie mouth-to- mouth. Her brows furrowed, and she said coldly, “What is the meaning of this!”

The servant at the side replied, “I was just passing by and saw a person floating in the pool.” Yvonne noticed a few people avoiding her gaze. She knew a few of them, but she said nothing.

“Why did she drown out of nowhere?” Yvonne then asked.

The maid answered, “The pool was just cleaned today, so she might’ve accidentally fallen in because it was too slippery.”

Yvonne’s gaze landed on Zach, and an unknown feeling grew in her chest. She had never seen Zach like this before. Had something happened to Jadie, she would be responsible, too. Since she was the person who invited Jadie to this event.

Although she achieved her goal, she was worried about what Zach would do to her if Jadie died. Yvonne panicked and asked, “Where’s the ambulance? Make the call quickly.”

“I’ve already called!” Someone answered.

“Wake up, Jadie!” Yvonne screamed. “Cough… cough cough,” Finally, Jadie showed some reaction.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
