The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 364 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 364

As soon as Zach loosened his grip slightly, Madelyn pushed him away and wanted to escape. Zach watched her desperately try to run away before grabbing her.

Madelyn felt she was choking on her own collar; she was pulled back to him. He held her body firmly, saying, “It’s. been a while since I saw you. You’ve gotten fatter.”

Madelyn could not see his face clearly in this dark alley. But she could imagine his teasing expression. She said, “It’s none of your business. You weren’t the person who paid for my food.” Zach pinched the flesh at her waist before kissing her neck. Madelyn was overwhelmed.

Zach thought, ‘Actually, Madelyn isn’t fat. She merely gained some weight. In the past, Madelyn was so thin that she gave the impression that her waist could easily snap on the bed. Her techniques improve quite a bit too.’

He said, “You’re a smart mouth as always. Did you think I wouldn’t touch you anymore just because you went to the Arnold residence? Huh?”

Madelyn could feel Zach’s hand on her chest. When he pressed down forcefully, she made an alluring soft hum. However, that was purely because she was in pain. He was too forceful.

Madelyn grabbed his hand to prevent him from moving his hand at his will. She pushed him away and said, “Zach, that’s enough! Aren’t you afraid that Jadie will find out about this? Don’t forget that she’s still here.” Zach asked, “Are you afraid?”

Madelyn sneered, “Yes. Not only am I afraid, but I also feel disgusted. You’re in a relationship with Jadie now. Yet, you did these things to me. When will you stop being fickle?

“She likes you so much. And you like her too. If you truly like her, you shouldn’t do this kind of thing again. It’ll hurt her a lot.”

Zach solemnly said, “I can’t believe such words just came out of your mouth.” Madelyn said, “Because I don’t want to hurt her. I don’t want to betray… him. I’m making it clear to you now. It ends here. You wouldn’t want Jadie to find out about this and get upset, right?”

Zach let go of her. Madelyn fixed her shirt before leaving the dark alley. She then said, “From now on… We won’t see each other again.”

When Madelyn entered the restaurant, she ordered a few non-spicy dishes. She found Jadie and sat opposite her. Jadie asked, “Where’s Zach?”

Madelyn answered, “I’m not sure. I didn’t see him.” “Why did you come in so late?” “I was answering a call just now.” Madelyn then calmly changed the topic, “What did you order?”

“I ordered quite a lot, including dishes that you like. Try this corn juice. It’s quite good.” Zach came in a while later. He told Jadie that he went to buy cigarettes. Jadie asked, “Zach, you used to never like smoking, right?”

Zach shrugged, “I like it now.” Madelyn could not bear to stay even half a minute longer with them. After all the food was served, Madelyn ate a little before contacting George and giving him an address. He arrived about forty-five minutes later. Madelyn took her backpack and left without any hesitation.

Outside the restaurant, she took a bottle of lemon water from a waiter to remove the scent of spices from her body. George walked toward Madelyn and took her bag from her. They then got into the car.

Jadie watched the car outside leave. She then glanced at Zach before grabbing a corn and started eating. She felt the atmosphere was strange. But she could not put her finger on it.

She said, “I heard from Yvonne today that Madelyn might marry Ethan in the future and become the wife of the CEO of the Arnold Corporation. And… it seems like the Arnold family approves of her too.

“Does Madelyn really not like you anymore?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
