The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 360

Jadie thought, ‘If it wasn’t for me suddenly having my period that night and stained my skirt, I wouldn’t have had the chance to call him and ask him to come over. And after that, he even carried me out of my classroom.’

She asked, “Zach, are you free this weekend? How about we go on a date? You didn’t spend time with me during Valentine’s Day.”

Zach answered, “Got it. I’ll check my schedule when the time comes and arrange it.” Jadie thought, ‘He always says this.’

Jadie planned to watch a movie for Valentine’s Day before shopping for clothes with him. He said the same thing to her. But in the end, he did not go. He ended up working overtime at the company. Jadie said further, “How about we go to the amusement park? I’ll wait for you on Friday after school.”

Zach responded with a sound. After lunch, Kevin came into the office to report on work. Zach had a meeting about half an hour later. Jadie did not want to disturb Zach. So, she left the company.

After Kevin left the office, Zach started checking a project proposal. He then accidentally touched the mouse on the desk. The computer screen lit up, and an audio file showed up.

Zach’s eyes turned gloomy when he looked at it. His gaze suddenly became cold as he hit the play button. A familiar voice could slowly be heard from the computer: [I miss you…]

Zach had never heard these words and tone from her before. It was a phone conversation of Madelyn, which lasted for about five hours. When Zach listened to the conversation, he heard Ethan’s voice too. He thought, ‘They really got together!’

Zach’s mind was suddenly in turmoil. He felt like the person who had always belonged to him suddenly got snatched away. He was lost in his thoughts, ‘I must be crazy to have my mind filled with the thoughts of her! I can’t make any more mistakes before it’s too late.’

In the library, with just half an hour left, Madelyn could no longer stand it. She grabbed her pen and put it inside her pencil case. The couple in front of her made her feel uncomfortable. Luckily, the library was not crowded today.

“Forry, I don’t understand this question. Can you teach me? She explained it too quickly just now. I didn’t catch it,” Kayla said.

Madelyn put away her books, saying, We’ve covered everything we’re supposed to. There’s still half an hour left. You can spend the time doing the homework. I’ll leave you two alone.” She had already put her books inside her bag when she finished saying the last sentence.

Just as she was about to leave, Forrest took his girlfriend’s textbook over and pointed at a question, “How do you solve this?” Madelyn frowned, “I only promised to tutor you.”

Forrest crossed his leg and shook it. He looked arrogant. He twisted his head and smiled provocatively, “What’s the matter? Are you jealous? What’s the difference for you to tutor one or two people? Besides, I don’t know how to solve this problem too.”

“You don’t?” Madelyn stared at him seriously. She was clearly angry. She continued, “I just explained this question. And you’re telling me you don’t know how to solve it? Did you even pay attention?”

Kayla lay on Forrest’s shoulder and discontentedly said, “Why are you so fierce?! You didn’t explain it well.”

Madelyn thought, ‘I’ve wasted two and a half hours being their third wheel. Fine. I owe him this.’ She then responded, “I’ll explain to you two again…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
