The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 332

“Is there anything else? I’m having dinner right now, so I’ll be hanging up if there isn’t.” “Dinner? Are you with Mr. Arnold?”

Madelyn looked in Ethan’s direction and was coincidentally met with his gaze.

“Mhm,” she replied.

“Madelyn, Zach and I are together now! “That’s great, congratulations.” Madelyn said indifferently. Her tone was devoid of emotion. “We’ll get your blessings, right?”

“Mhm.”

“Thank you, Madelyn!” ‘So he’s finally gotten what he wanted and got together with Jadie?’ thought Madelyn.

She thought bitterly, ‘It turns out Zach really can give up everything for a person. And the only one who could make him do that is Jadie. Initially, Zach could’ve gotten together with Yvonne and used the Young family to take over the Jent family. He could’ve easily done all of this with his capabilities. In fact, he could’ve built his own business empire that rivaled the Jent family’s. There was no need for him to use such lowly tactics and stain his own reputation… Now that he’s chosen Jadie, this means he was willing to give up everything. I should’ve known.’

Madelyn had already figured the two had gotten together when her father asked about them. In this lifetime, she did not interfere, and the two successfully got together.

‘I suppose I’ve made it up to Jadie for what I’ve done in the past!’ she thought again. Madelyn thought of her father’s reaction that day and reminded Jadie,” Father already knows about you two being together. He’s furious. You and Zach should avoid him.”

“Don’t worry. Zach will protect me.” Madelyn could imagine the happy look on Jadie’s face when she said this sentence. She was relieved that Zach would no longer harass her, “Okay.”

Madelyn hung up the phone and returned to her seat. “They’re asking you to go back?” Ethan asked. Madelyn put away her phone and shook her head.

“Nope. Jadie called. The new school term starts tomorrow, and she asked me to help her ask for leave.”

Ethan nodded. He glanced at his expensive wristwatch and said, “It’s getting late. I’ll send you home. I’ll come pick you up again tomorrow after school.”

“Mhm.” Now that the new school term had started, Madelyn needed to return to the Jent residence. ‘But… Zach and Jadie are together now, so do I even need to return to the Jent residence?’ she wondered.

Madelyn and Ethan sat in a luxurious Cayenne. “What’s the matter? Why are you staring at me?” Ethan asked. Madelyn immediately looked away when she realized she was staring.

“It’s nothing,” she replied. After Madelyn got home, she took a bath and went to sleep. That night, she had a dream. In the dream, she saw Zach and Jadie’s future.

Zach had a successful career, and Jadie graduated at the top of her class. The two got married and lived happily together. They had a daughter and a son. Then, the two grew old together and had lots of grandchildren.

Meanwhile, Madelyn was plagued by illness and eventually died alone in a hospital, as the Jent family slowly lost its reputation and disappeared from Ventropolis.

In the dream, Zach became a prominent figure in Ventropolis many years later. He had worked his way to the top and become one of the elites, appearing at a banquet with Jadie and being interviewed by reporters.

One of the reporters asked him about his regrets. Zach replied, “A girl from the Jent family. Her name’s Madelyn Jent.”

The reporter asked about the relationship between them. Zach was silent.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
