The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 312

“Zach Jardin! How can you say that without feeling ashamed?”

“Be good.” After spending more than an hour in the bathroom, Madelyn’s pent-up tension finally went away. She felt completely tired. Zach helped her out of the bathtub, wrapped her in a towel, and dried her hair. She fell onto the pillow, snuggling naturally into the center of the bed.

In the middle of the night, a wave of heat washed over her. She wanted to kick off the covers, but it felt like she was next to a blazing furnace. Too drained to do anything, she thought, ‘ Whatever.’

As morning light peeked through the curtains, Madelyn was stirred by a rustling noise. She pulled her blanket tighter around her and drifted back to sleep. After getting dressed, Zach glanced back at the bundled-up Madelyn under the covers and smiled.

Forrest’s flight from Roshya to Ventropolis touched down at eight o’clock in the morning. An hour later, he was at the hospital’s main entrance, buying a bouquet of lilies. Making his way to the in-patient area on the fifteenth floor, a nurse greeted him. ” Hello, Mr. Arnold.”

“Has she woken up?” “Not yet. She only fell asleep around four this morning.” Forrest nodded. “Thanks. You can go.”

“Sure thing, Mr. Arnold.” With her asthma acting up from the recent cold snap, Sylvia got sick pretty quickly. When Forrest heard about it, he hurried back.

Forrest walked into the hospital room and found Sylvia fast asleep. He settled down on the couch, passing time by playing on his phone. Eventually, he drifted off into a nap. After what felt like a long time, he sensed movement nearby. Stirring and sitting up, he saw Sylvia’s pale face.

“When did you wake up?” Forrest asked. With her hair flowing around her and wrapped in a shawl, Sylvia had a kind of regal appearance. She moved closer to him, placing a fallen blanket over his legs. “Not too long ago. worried you with I’m sorry I my flare-ups. I didn’t mean for you to rush back here like that.”

Forrest shrugged. “I was finished with work anyway, so we can spend time together. Are you hungry? I can make something for you.”

Sylvia shook her head. “I looked at those photos you took. They’re really impressive. Did she like them?” “Yeah,” Forrest grinned, “she absolutely loved them.”

“That’s good.” Sylvia gazed at him affectionately, running her fingers through his hair. “You’ve grown up so much and become quite handsome. And you even have a girl you like. Remember to tell her how you feel. If you don’t, she’ll never know. You’ll be graduating next year, right? Don’t wait too long, or you might miss your chance. You’d regret it.”

Picking up an apple, Forrest started peeling it. “I’ll wait a bit. Bringing it up now might distract her from school. Plus, she’s not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.” He tapped his head, mischief twinkling in his eyes every time he mentioned her.

“Have you visited Ethan recently?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
