The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 306

Madelyn smiled. She was touched and her heart felt a warmth that she had never experienced. In the video, Forrest’s berth on the train was by the window. There was the most beautiful scenery along the way. The fleeting scenes that the train passed by had been edited by Forrest into slow-motion frames for her to see…

After watching Forrest’s video, Madelyn wished she could video call him right now so that she could see the scene live. By the time she finished watching, it was already around three in the afternoon.

After she walked out of the library, she called Forrest’s phone number. He accepted the call after just a few seconds, “What’s up, Ms. Jent? Do you need something?”

Madelyn, “Forrest, I’ve received them. Thank you! I’ve seen all the photos and the video. They’re very beautiful.”

Forrest lazily took a deep breath. His voice sounded like he had just woken up as he coldly replied, “Okay. Got it. Anything else? I want to sleep.”

Madelyn, “Can I see the original video? The unedited footage?” “You’re so demanding. No! I’m hanging up now.” Forrest said as he ended the call. Madelyn was not angry and merely thought, ‘I’ll talk to him about this when he comes back.’

In the blink of an eye, Madelyn’s final two-hour piano lesson was over. On the way back home, Madelyn bought an album to keep the photos in..

Halfway through her walk back home, it suddenly started snowing. She watched the snow melt, covering the pavement.

The housemaid called her and told her to get home as soon as possible, since a guest had arrived back home. Madelyn wondered who the guest was as the maid had sounded very secretive. She quickly went home and saw a familiar car. She pondered, ‘This is…’

Madelyn entered the house and sensed an unusually relaxed atmosphere. She could hear a familiar voice coming from the living room. Once she walked in, she saw quite a lot of people sitting on the couch. The servant greeted her, “Ms. Jent.”

Ethan turned his head to look at Madelyn and the others did the same. Madelyn handed her backpack to the servant as she said, “Help me take this to my room, and be careful with it.”

“Okay, Ms. Jent.”

Ethan stood up and smiled, “You’re back.”

Hayson chided her in a serious tone, Why’d you attend the class when you’re on break? You should just rest at home. “He turned to Rosario and said, ‘ Rosario, tell the kitchen to prepare a few more dishes.”

Rosario responded, “Yes, Mr. Jent.” Ethan said, “That’s okay. I just came to see her for a while, then I’ll leave.” Madelyn realized Hayson’s gaze was signaling her to do something. She understood his gesture, approaching Ethan and sitting close to him.

“Since you’re here, why not stay for a meal? Do you want to try my walnut cake? I have the ingredients ready.” Ethan asked, “Wouldn’t it be a bother?”

Madelyn smiled faintly, “Of course not. I’ve been planning to make it anyway, so since you’re here, I won’t have to ask someone to deliver it to you. Besides, walnut cake is best enjoyed when it’s hot.”

Ethan offered, “Then I’ll help you.”

“It’s fine, I can manage. You can accompany my father for now. I’ll be done soon.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
