The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 303

Madelyn’s mouth stung with the bitter taste of cigarette smoke, and she hated it She was then brought to the examination room.

As she lay on the adjustable bed. Kai’s charming and devilish expression leaned over her and smirked. “Long time no see, Madelyn!”

“What the hell are you doing here?!” She immediately propped herself up with her hands. After seeing him, she resisted and did not want to do the checkup anymore. Kai smiled mischievously, “What’s wrong, Madelyn? Afraid that I might see something?”

‘No shit, Sherlock!’ Madelyn thought before saying, “I don’t want to undergo the medical checkup anymore.”

Kai clenched his right hand to cover his mouth and laughed. He squinted, ” Don’t worry. I’m not the one who’ll be doing the checkup on you. I swear I won’t peek!”

Suddenly, the voice of a woman in her forties spoke, “Don’t be scared, young lady. I’ll be the one conducting your checkup! Dr. Stewart, stop scaring the young lady. You can leave now!”

Upon seeing it was a woman, Madelyn was relieved and lay back down. After Kai left, Madelyn spread her legs, covered by a blue cloth. Her face turned red with embarrassment. As she felt something enter between her legs, she shifted uncomfortably.

As the ultrasound probe entered, the image of Madelyn’s hymen was visualized on the screen. The gynecologist touched her forehead and said, “Look at me, I’ve been so swamped with patients today that I forgot that you’re still a young lady. Give me a moment and I’ll replace this probe for you.”

After her ultrasound, Madelyn waited for the results to be out. Smoke wafted around the smoking area outside. There were many cigarette butts on the ground too.

Kai had his hands inside the pockets of his white coat, with a stethoscope around his neck. He said, “I’ve told you, no matter how many times she gets a checkup, the results will still be the same. The most effective solution is for her to undergo a hysterectomy. I warned you not to be so soft-hearted back then. Look at you now, you’re already giving up so quickly!”

Zach coldly glanced at Kai, “Shut your mouth!” Kai dismissively chuckled, “I always thought that you were into sexy, mature women. I never expected your taste to be so unique. Your type is girls much younger than you.

“What a monster you are. She hasn’t even graduated from high school. Zach, you degenerate! Why don’t you tell me what it’s like playing around with a little girl?” Zach glared at him, “If you don’t want to lose your tongue, shut up!”

Their argument was interrupted by the gynecologist saying, “Dr. Stewart and the young lady’s guardian, please come with me.”

The two men tossed their cigarette butts and walked into the office. Madelyn fixed her shirt before walking out from behind the curtain.

The gynecologist looked at the ultrasound image and solemnly said, ” There’s no other solution except for undergoing surgery, and alternative medicine can’t help. You guys should consider it as soon as possible. Dr. Hart has a free slot for surgery next week.”

Zach asked, “After the uterus is removed, will it be possible to transplant a new one?”

Kai looked like he had heard the most absurd joke, “Are you insane? First of all, the current medical system here in Venturia isn’t equipped for uterine transplant surgery. Secondly, even if she were to get a transplant, she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant. To conceive, a woman’s uterus needs to be healthy. Even if a transplantation procedure was possible right now, no sane woman would donate their own uterus to have it transplanted to someone else.”

The gynecologist at the side nodded, ” Dr. Stewart is right. The uterus is necessary for female pregnancy, so it’s one of a woman’s unique features.” Turning towards Madelyn, she continued, “Young lady, don’t get down on yourself. Even without a uterus, with how advanced medical technology is now, if you get married in the future, you can undergo IVF, in- vitro fertilization, so you won’t have to go through the pain of giving birth. “Or you could also consider adopting a child.”

Madelyn had heard this kind of advice countless times and was already numb to it. She smiled lightly, “It’s okay, doctor. I’ve already come to terms with it. Please help me schedule the surgery for next week!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
