The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1312

Blake watched Kevin and Audrey being happy together and wanted to call out his name. But she could not utter a word. She felt extremely hurt, as if countless blades were slicing through her heart.

She clenched her fists, pretending not to see them, and expressionlessly looked away. “Janice, I suddenly feel a little tired. I’m going back now.”

Janice shifted her gaze away from Kevin’s face. “Okay, I’ll walk with you.”

Blake calmly responded, “It’s fine. I can go back by myself.”

After that, she walked away as though nothing was wrong. She walked in the opposite direction from Kevin and Audrey, not caring whether they saw her or not.

When she reached the second floor, Blake could barely stand anymore; she instantly fell to the ground.

Passersby thought she was trying to scam them.

“What’s wrong with you?! Are you crazy?”

“Crazy woman!”

Blake looked at the escalator with an intense gaze. Despite her inner turmoil, she managed to prop herself up and ran away hastily. She did not expect Kevin to witness her embarrassing fall.

She thought, ‘Was he laughing at me? We’ve agreed that I’d wait for him for three years. Yet, this happened.’

Blake texted Kevin every single day. She expressed her thoughts to him in texts because he once told her that he did not like hearing voice messages lasting several tens of seconds.

That was why she took the time to type out her thoughts, telling him how much she missed him.

When she found out about the explosion in Northern Myanmar and received news of his death, she wished to immediately fly to the place where he had the accident, even if it had been turned into ruins. She wanted to look for him, alive or dead.

Even if Kevin were gone, Blake would keep waiting for him.

But now, he had appeared before her. But she did not even know when he came back.

She wondered why Kevin would suddenly get engaged to Audrey.

Blake pondered, ‘I have no idea why Kevin didn’t even send me a single text after disappearing for so long. Instead, he finds Audrey and is with her. Does it give him joy to treat me like a joke?”

Janice was not comfortable letting Blake leave alone. She was worried Blake might do something foolish. So, she followed her downstairs after calling Liam for help.

A heavy downpour happened at some point. When Blake and Janice arrived at the mall earlier, it was sunny.

Janice hurriedly grabbed Blake, who was about to step into the rain. “Blake, are you crazy? It’s raining so heavily. Where are you going?”

Blake seemed to come back to her senses. She took a step back when she saw the pouring rain and her already wet shoes.

Blake responded, “I’ll go buy an umbrella.”

Janice replied, “Blake, Liam will be here soon to pick you up. Let’s wait a bit longer.”

She was very worried about Blake’s current disoriented state.

Blake thought, ‘Liam…’

She had been alone, trying to calm herself down for several days. She had blocked all incoming calls except for Janice’s. She even switched off her phone.

Among those blocked was Liam. Now, Blake felt unreal when she heard his name. She pondered, ‘If Janice didn’t bring him up, I almost forgot that I still have a “husband.””

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
