The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1300 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1300

Blake kept using Kevin as an excuse to talk herself into marrying Liam.

When she had been in Northern Myanmar, Blake had noticed Cecilia’s high status there and how the people there treated her with utmost respect. Blake knew that she was most likely involved in the explosion. Her fists clenched tightly, and her whole body tensed up, a deep, dull emotional pain coursing through her. Blake’s eyes welled with tears as she gazed out the car window, her emotions rising.

After they arrived at the Harper residence, Blake exited the car with Cecilia following closely into the foyer. Grace asked, “Blake, where have you been? Liam…”

Simon clutched his chest and stood up from the couch. Upon seeing Cecilia also appear at the door, the expressions on everyone’s faces changed. Simon walked over and said, “Blake, come here.”

Blake obediently walked over. Grace stepped forward, gripped her hand, and shielded her behind, saying to Cecilia, ” What are you doing here? You’re not welcome here. Get out now.”

Cecilia removed her sunglasses, chuckled disbelievingly, and said, ”

Blake is my younger sister. As her only sister, I naturally have the right to get involved in her marriage. Of course, in gratitude for all these years of raising my sister, I’m covering all the expenses for her wedding. Oh! By the way, that also includes all her post-marriage expenses.”

Grace gave Simon an uncomfortable glance. The three of them standing together looked like a family, leaving Cecilia distinctly as the outsider. Blake suddenly spoke up when everyone stayed silent, “Before, you coerced me into doing what you wanted and went to great lengths to manipulate me into marrying Liam. But this time, Cecilia, I’ve made up my mind. I want a divorce from Liam. I won’t let you manipulate me anymore.” Grace tightly held her hand, and sweat formed in their palms.

Blake held both hers and Liam’s marriage certificate. It was something Liam had given her. He had said that if she ever wanted a divorce, she could take the marriage certificate to the courthouse.

Cecilia smirked, “Blake, even if you divorce Liam, do you think the Xander family will take it lightly? Liam is Julian’s most precious son. If you hurt Liam, do you really think all of you and your adoptive mother can still get by in Ventropolis? Oh, and your daughter, Mya…”

When Cecilia brought up Mya, Blake promptly interrupted loudly, “Cecilia, our family affairs are none of your business.”

However, Grace asked persistently, ” What happened to Mya? Tell us what you know!”

Simon clutched his heart, and Blake’s heart started racing. ‘Uncle’s got a weak heart. If he and Aunt discover that Mya has been assigned abroad by that jerk Fred, who knows what kind of shock they might experience.’

Blake said, “Aunt, don’t listen to her nonsense. She has no other means besides threatening people.”

“Blake, why are you talking about me like this? I’m just doing it for your own good.” With that, Cecilia raised her hand, glanced at the time on her wrist, and continued, “Alright, let’s not waste any more time here. Mr. Xander is still waiting for us to discuss the wedding.”

While speaking, Cecilia shot a suggestive look towards Blake.

‘Yeah, Julian is about to run for the position of mayor. Everyone thinks he’s the most suitable candidate. They’ve even drafted the announcement and plan to release it officially on election day.’

In the end, Blake gave in. On the way to the Xander residence, Blake occupied the middle seat, her hand held tightly by Grace, who was both anxious and worried. “Blake, what did Cecilia mean just now? What’s going on with Mya? Is she having a relapse of her condition? Has she gone missing? Mya! My poor Mya!”

Simon scolded, “Alright, stop crying. Mya has always been lucky since childhood. She’ll be fine.”

Blake hesitated before saying, “Aunt, don’t worry. Mya just went abroad for treatment. It’s just unclear what Fred is really thinking.”

Grace said, “Yeah! Ever since that jerk started abusing and mistreating Mya, her mind has been deteriorating. Mya used to be perfectly normal, and she was so smart. If Fred doesn’t like her, he could just send her back. Why insist on sending her away?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
