The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1211

Hannah held Blake’s hand. “There’s actually something I want to tell you.”

Blake smiled as if she was covering up something. “Mom, I’m so tired! I want to sleep. If there’s something, can you tell me after I wake up?”

Hannah responded, “Blake, Yael and I came back because of this matter. Not long ago, someone hacked into the filing system. We don’t know who it is, but Yael’s and my information was stolen. It seems like someone’s coming for you. I think you should know about this.”

Blake covered her ears emotionally. Her eyes turned red as she said, “I don’t want to listen. I don’t want to hear anything.”

Hannah saw her reaction and mustered the courage to say, “Blake, if it weren’t absolutely necessary, we would’ve wanted to keep this matter from you forever. But the situation is different now. What I wanted to tell you is that regardless of whether you’re my biological child or not, once I decided to adopt you, I’d already decided to treat you as my own daughter.

“For us, the adoption documents are just pieces of paper. I could only adopt you after completing these procedures.

“Although we aren’t blood-related, I’ll always consider you as my own daughter. In fact, your father and I both underwent sterilization surgery, just so that you wouldn’t misunderstand when you found out about this news after growing up.”

Blake slowly calmed down. Her eyes were filled with tears. “So, you and Dad won’t abandon me, right? Can we still continue to be a family?”

Hannah rubbed Blake’s head. “Silly girl, you’re our only child. How could we possibly abandon you?”

Blake instantly broke down and hugged Hannah. “If you two don’t want me, I won’t have parents anymore. From now on, I promise to be a good girl and listen to you both.”

Hannah replied, “All right, get along well with Liam. Yael and I are pleased to see your relationship with Liam is so good.”

Blake leaned on Hannah’s shoulder. ” Okay, promise me that no matter what happens in the future, you and Dad won’t ever abandon me.”

Hannah said, “I promise. You’re tired, so rest. I’ll leave after you fall asleep.”

“Okay.”

Blake finally felt the family love that she had not experienced in a long time. She closed her eyes. After over an hour, when Hannah left, Blake, who had not fallen asleep, slowly opened her eyes to look at the door being closed.

Blake did not know how to tell Hannah about her relationship with Liam. She wondered if Yael and Hannah would be disappointed to know that she and Liam were not together.

Blake stayed a few days at home, and gradually, her injuries were completely healed.

She was lying on a chair in the yard outside the villa, basking in the sun. Some thoughts, possibly dreams or forgotten memories flooded her mind.

She only woke up when she heard the vibration of the phone placed beside her. Feeling weak, she picked up the phone and saw it was a message from Liam.

He texted: [Cecilia has requested to transfer you to become the CEO’s assistant. I’ve already received the documents.

[I want to know what you think.]

Blake put her phone down and looked at the blue sky. ‘She wants me to return to Jardin Corporation?

‘Damn you, Cecilia!

‘There are things that I can’t avoid even if I wanted to. It might be better for me to try and make things return to how they were before.’

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
