The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1189

Blake immediately stood up, almost getting angry at his blunt approach.” Are you stupid? Can’t you have a bit of tact? I just wanted you to compliment me by saying, ‘You look beautiful tonight.’ Why’s that so hard for you to get?”

Blake gestured with both hands from her waist down to her hip area. “Am I not sexy? Don’t I look good?”

Watching her frustrated expression, Kevin said calmly, “I don’t know if you’re considered good-looking now. Since the dinner is ready, let’s eat.” After finishing, Kevin, who wore sleepwear and lacked any romantic flair, stood up and left the study.

Only a few tube lights were on in the dim living room, creating a romantic atmosphere. The rose petals were scattered around the dining table. Whether a man or a woman, no one could remain indifferent in this kind of setting. However, Kevin was unromantic.

Blake looked at Kevin as he turned on the lights. He said, “How can we eat with the lights off? You can’t see anything!”

Blake scowled and turned off the lights again in annoyance. “I don’t care. Tonight, we’re dining in the dark. If you turn on the lights, forget about eating.”

Kevin sat at the dining table, skillfully picking up the knife and fork slicing through the steak. “Have it your way.”

Blake sat down and took a sip of red wine to calm down. “If it weren’t for your injury, I swear I’d choke you.”

Blake’s face revealed a tipsy expression after finishing the steak cooked with premium red wine. She stood up and suddenly collapsed onto Kevin. “I wanted to share the meal with you. Also, it dawned on me that you know nothing about romance and dating. I must be blind to have fallen for someone like you.”

Blake leaned back on Kevin’s lap, cupping his face. She had reapplied the makeup he had earlier wiped off. There was an unmistakable expression of love that a woman could not conceal for a man in her mesmerizing eyes. “We’re done eating and can do something else next. Don’t try to knock me out again this time! Otherwise, I won’t forgive you!”

Blake was like an enchanting fairy. Even the typically cautious Kevin was caught off guard by Blake before he realized it. At some point, Blake slyly used the belt from her dress to tie his hands to the chair. Kevin could not move his hands, and Blake chuckled as she gently patted his cheek with narrowed eyes, “Now, let’s see where you think you can escape. I’ve watched plenty of movies. Don’t expect this to be over for at least two or three hours.”

Kevin asked, “What are you doing? Blake, stop it!”

Blake sensed his erection and slowly crouched down with a smile. Fifteen minutes later, pulsating veins covered Kevin’s neck as he fought to suppress the impending eruption of intensity. ” Th-That’s enough!”

After removing it from her mouth, Blake touched it again. “You’re clearly a jerk. Why pretend to be a saint?”

“You… G-Get up!”

“Want it? Beg me! I thought you were indifferent and desireless?”

Next to the chair was a sexy pair of lace panties. Blake sat back on his lap, twisting her body, feeling a rush of intense sensations throughout her body. She tried to avoid his wound as much as possible. However, the primary injury now was not his external injury but internal.

“Want it? Beg me to invite you in. Have you ever been intimate with a woman?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
