The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1115

Although Rosario had been dead for many years, she had still been able to sponsor a student. Sparing her life was the greatest kindness Zach could give her.

Kevin commented, “Actually, I think it’s odd that the person behind this…”

His tone became more serious as he spoke, “Do you know who’s behind this, Mr. Jardin? Could it be Cecilia?”

Zach stared outside thoughtfully. He said, “Cecilia has grown a little stronger and now she thinks I can’t do anything to her. But there’s no rush, I’ll take back what is mine soon. What has she been doing recently?”

Kevin told him, “Every day, Cecilia goes to work for us while trying to buy shares of other shareholders behind our backs. Besides Cecilia, the Young family should have the most shares. If the Young family and Cecilia were to team up, I’m afraid…”

Zach put out his cigarette and interrupted him, “She said I was the one who made her this way. She’s getting quite ambitious, but she still isn’t worthy of taking over the Jardin Corporation.”

“Even if she managed to take hold of the whole Jardin Corporation, she wouldn’t be able to shake its foundations. Keep an eye on any transactions Joey makes. Once he makes a move, hand him over to the authorities,” Zach continued.

Kevin asked him, “Are we not going to interfere in her plan?”

Zach answered with his hands in his pockets, “Too many parties are involved in this. Handling it by ourselves will bring too many issues.”

Kevin nodded, “I understand, Mr. Jardin.”

Zach turned around and stared at Madelyn. Then, he asked Kevin, “What is Blake’s position in the company right now?”

When Kevin heard Zach mention Blake, he was shocked. He had never heard Zach even mention the name of anyone under him.

“She’s still working by Cecilia’s side. She refused the offer to switch positions,” Kevin replied. Zach questioned him, “You didn’t tell her?”

Kevin answered, “Don’t worry, Mr. Jardin. I’ll watch over her.”

Zach kept silent.

Madelyn, on the other hand, was stuck in a coma for two days and was awoken by the sound of furious voices. Everything looked blurry to her while her throat was in agony.

A doctor answered, “I apologize, Mr. Jardin. Mrs. Jardin’s situation is serious. We’ve tried our best to heal her, but the damage done by breathing in the harmful gasses is irreversible. It would be impossible to cure her in a few months. It requires constant care.”

Zach bellowed, “If you can’t cure her, then what use are you to this hospital? I don’t care what method you use; heal her immediately.”

The nurse by Madelyn’s bed saw Madelyn wake up and quickly shouted, “She’s awake!”

Madelyn’s vision was still blurry, and she could barely recognize anyone. She lay in Zach’s arms weakly. She wanted to speak, but no words would come out. She could not muster the strength to speak. Her eyes were open for half a minute before she slipped back into her coma. This happened over and over again.

Zach’s patience was growing thinner, making everyone at the hospital feel like they were walking on eggshells.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
