The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1083

Frida believed none of this would have happened if not for Zach. It seemed like she had made a decision.

Cecilia had signs of miscarriage because she had too much fun last night. She took an injection in the hospital that reduced the risk of miscarriage and had an IV drip attached to her hand. Blake took the phone that was ringing and handed it to Cecilia, “Ms. Samford, here’s your phone.”

After Cecilia took the phone, she sent Blake away, “Go get me a cup of hot water.”

“Okay.”

Blake then left the ward and closed the door. However, she did not leave immediately. Instead, she stood at the door to eavesdrop.

She could faintly hear some sounds.

“It’s good that you’ve figured it out. Madelyn has already bewitched Zach. If she didn’t fuel the flames, how could Zach possibly make a move on your daughter? Ms. Young, do you remember how glorious the Young family was back then? Now, your family has fallen because of Zach, a lowly person. Are you really okay with that?”

Cecilia’s provocative words seemed to affect Frida. She responded, “I can cooperate with you. But first, you need to make sure my daughter stays alive.”

Cecilia disdainfully replied, “Rest assured, your daughter treated me kindly when I was still an assistant. Without her promoting me, I wouldn’t have caught Zach’s eyes and gotten to where I am today. My goal is just to become the CEO of Jardin Corporation.

“If Zach steps down, it’ll benefit both you and me. If he dies, your family will return to what it used to be.”

Cecilia smiled as she ended the call, ” Zach, as I’ve said before, from the moment you chose Madelyn, you’d have to pay the price. I’ve done so much for you, yet you still chose to be with her! Look… You’ve offended so many people just for one loser!

“In this lifetime, it’s time for someone else to take the CEO position of Jardin Corporation!

“I’ll make you kneel down and beg me sooner or later.”

Blake covered her mouth. She did not expect to hear such information. She thought, ‘Cecilia actually wants to work with someone else to go against Zach.’

She was overwhelmed. When she was getting water for Cecilia, she almost spilled it. Luckily, she managed to stabilize the cup.

“Ms. Samford, the doctor said you need to rest and recover properly in the hospital for the next few days. It’s best not to get out of bed. If you have something that you want to eat, just let me know. I’ll get it for you.” Blake reassured.

Cecilia was satisfied as she looked at Blake, whom she found somewhat foolish, “You’ve indeed done well these days. But remember to watch your mouth. Be mindful of what you say to others.”

Blake assured, “Ms. Samford, don’t worry. I’m aware of who’s best for me to work for.”

“That’s good. Go back to the company. I’ll text you if there’s anything.”

“Okay, Ms. Samford. Take care of yourself. I’ll visit you after work. Just let me know what you want to eat anytime. I’ll buy it for you.”

“You may leave now.”

Cecilia looked at Blake and thought, ‘

Blake does resemble her. If she’d grown up, she’d be around the same age as Blake. Unfortunately, she’s long gone from this world.’

After Blake left the hospital, a man came out from a dark area and asked Cecilia, who was on the bed, “Do you really trust her that much?”

Cecilia responded, “She’s not worth worrying about. Why did you come to visit me? Are you here for the child or because you’re worried about me?”

The man walked to the bedside and caressed Cecilia’s slightly bulging belly, “Keep this child safe and deliver it safely. I’ll give you anything you want.”

Cecilia smiled charmingly, “Money isn’t important to me now. You know what I want!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
