The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1052

Kevin stood up abruptly, his expression looking cold. “Figure it out yourself,” he said curtly to Blake, who was momentarily lost in thought.

As he moved toward the door, Blake, overcome by an inexplicable surge of joy, laughed heartily and hugged him from behind. Her sudden embrace and cheerful declaration caught Kevin off guard.

“I knew you came to make up! Let’s forget about yesterday and start over. Since you’ve given me all that money, consider yourself my boyfriend again!” Blake exclaimed.

Carefree and appeased, Blake was cheered up, especially with Kevin coming to find her. He turned to face her, his expression unreadable. “Are you sure you won’t regret this?” he asked, his tone hinting at something deeper.

Blake, oblivious to the underlying meaning, grinned, “Regret? Why would 1? Besides, we can deal with any problems if they come up. Since you have that much money, you must have a villa in the capital, right?”

Kevin just nodded, his cold expression warming slightly as he gently brushed a stray hair from her face.

Blake happily said, “See? I won’t regret anything unless you harm me. But if you upset me again, I’ll spend all your money.”

Kevin simply responded, “Okay.”

At that moment, Blake felt like a balloon filled with helium, ready to soar with happiness.

She understood this was true love; Kevin’s every move swayed her emotions. She knew she had fallen for him despite not knowing why and being unaware of his motives.

‘Well, so be it. Life is short. Might as well enjoy it.’ Blake thought. Her tone shifted to playful demands, ” You can’t ignore me at work. And no more lunches with Susan, okay?”

Kevin replied, “Alright.”

“I’ll think of the rest later and let you know,” Blake said. She returned Kevin’s wallet and added, “Here. I don’t need your money. I have enough from my mom and relatives.”

She continued while yawning, “Stay over. It’s late, and you won’t get much sleep if you leave. I’ll get you some pajamas”. She pulled Kevin toward the bedroom, then stopped. “Come on, I’m not going to do anything.”

Kevin frowned. He looked at her sternly and asked, “Don’t you know men and women should keep their distance?”

Blake laughed off his old-fashioned remark and said, “Oh, come on! It’s normal for couples. We’re just going to sleep. Hurry up!”

In the office, Kevin was a fearsome tiger. But in Blake’s territory, he was suddenly like a cub in the wolf’s den.

She forcefully dragged Kevin into the master bedroom. He glanced around at the messy room with a disapproving look while she cleaned up.

Then, Blake found a man’s pajama in a dark color and handed it to Kevin. She said, “Here, this is for you. Go on and have a shower. Or do you need help undressing?”

Kevin was surprised by Blake’s boldness. He asked, “Blake, don’t you think you lack basic decency?”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
