The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1016

Madelyn comfortably enjoyed Zach’s makeup removal service, as the esthetician used gentle techniques and applied various makeup removers on her face. She responded to his words, ” It’s no big deal, just some harmless words. It doesn’t really bother me.” She heard even more hurtful words before.

“Enough, I’m going to wash my face.” She went to the bathroom and did so, taking a shower as well.

Zach received a call from Kevin and walked to the study to answer it. Kevin reported, “There’s indeed a paternity test inside, and the recording contains your conversation with Kai. Mr. Jardin, do we need to destroy these?”

Zach emanated a chilling intent to kill from head to toe instantly. The last time he had felt like this was because of Yvonne. However, Zach had tried to stop acting like that for Madelyn’s sake. He said coldly, “Destroy everything, and… give her a final warning. If this happens again, I’ll reclaim everything I’ve provided to the Young family, without exception.”

Kevin replied, “Yes, Mr. Jardin.”

Madelyn felt much more awake after finishing showering. When she went downstairs for dinner, she heard a car approaching from outside, then the doorbell rang. Madelyn was feeding Dalton his baby food and said, ”

Margaret, go check who’s arrived.”

Margaret said, “Okay.”

When Margaret opened the door, an unexpected guest arrived, and Mya’s voice rang out, “Madelyn! I’m here!”

Madelyn turned toward the voice. It was Mya, whom she had not seen in a long time, along with Fred, whom she least wanted to see following behind!

“Mya? What are you doing here?” Madelyn stood up.

Mya rushed forward and immediately hugged her. “Madelyn, I missed you so much. You promised you would come to see me, but you didn’t. So, I came to see you instead! Look, I brought you lots of delicious food!”

If it were only Fred, Madelyn naturally would not have welcomed him. However, she could not just kick them out since Mya was there too.

“You run such a big company, and now you’re in such a sorry state?” Fred always spoke bluntly. Then, his gaze fell on Dalton. With curiosity, he approached and touched his face, ” You’re so ugly.”

Dalton showed no fear at all when meeting strangers. He bit onto Fred’s hand, but since he barely had any teeth, it did not hurt at all.

Zach peeled a plate of shrimp for Madelyn and placed it in front of her. Then, he wiped his hands with a tissue and said, “What an unexpected guest! Couldn’t bear the prison life anymore?”

Madelyn frowned and immediately picked up Dalton. Mya did not care that they were at odds and preferred to be with Madelyn. “Madelyn, can I hold the baby?”

Madelyn said, “Sure, just be careful.”

Fred glanced at the ineffectual woman beside him. Then, he sat down without any politeness. “The dinner looks good.

Zach gestured, and the servant beside immediately brought two sets of utensils over, placing them in front of Fred. “Come and have dinner.”

With a peculiar look, Madelyn glanced in his direction. ‘They’re alike in how they give orders.’

Mya refused, “I don’t want to eat. I want to play with the baby for a while.”

“Hmm?”

Mya’s happy face instantly turned unhappy just because of a change in his tone. “Dalton, I’ll play with you later, okay?” After saying that, she handed Dalton back to Madelyn. It was obvious that Dalton really liked Mya.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
