The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1252

Kai casually tossed the scans aside, ” With his self-healing abilities, he should be fine. But now he’s a vegetable. Whether he can wake up or not depends on his fate.”

He thought, ‘Zach had done many sinful things. It’s still uncertain if he can wake up from his coma.’

Blake believed she received somewhat good news. Then, she remembered something else and said, “By the way, Mr. Jardin’s attending physician is arranged by Cecilia. Her name is Joanna Griver. She gave me this medical report. Also, she wanted me to tell you that your competition with her isn’t over yet. She’ll come and challenge you again when she has time.

“From what I understand, it sounds like she wants you to help treat Mr. Jardin with her.”

Kai remembered Joanna’s name. He smiled slightly and then looked at the weak Lana, lying on the bed beside him, “Tell her I’m not interested.”

Blake nodded, “Okay. I’ll convey your message when I have the chance.

“It’s getting late. I won’t disturb you.”

Blake checked the time and saw that it was already past working hours. After leaving the ward, she faintly heard voices from inside.

Lana asked, “Andrew, what’s your relationship with Joanna Griver? Why have I never heard you mention her before?”

Kai covered Lana with a blanket before saying, “She’s a junior from a school I attended. You don’t need to worry about her.”

Blake slowed down. When she heard Lana addresses Kai as “Andrew,” she was shocked. ‘Did Lana just call him Andrew?’

After Blake hailed a taxi on the roadside, she still could not figure out what had happened to Lana. She could not understand why Lana addressed Kai as “Andrew.”

She wondered if Lana had gone insane.

Blake pondered, ‘But Lana seemed completely normal. If Kevin were here, I could ask him; he’d probably know everything. But he’s not around now. I feel like I’m the only person left in this huge Jardin Corporation.’

On the way back, Blake received a call from Cecilia.

Cecilia said, “You’re quite clever, thinking of using Zach against me. Blake, do you remember what I taught you? Don’t be so naive in handling matters. I wonder why you’re being so bold. Zach is in my hands now. Even if you find Kai, what can you do? He can never get close to Zach as long as I prohibit that. Zach will never wake up.”

Cecilia’s provocative tone made Blake feel a sense of insuppressible helplessness. She replied, “I believe in making things happen. Cecilia, your triumph won’t last long.”

Over the next half month, Blake personally delivered Zach’s medical report to Kai.

During this period, he discovered the most significant issue.

There was a sharp fragment of a knife near Zach’s heart. A minor lack of caution could result in the sharp fragment cutting through the blood vessels of his heart, leading to massive bleeding or death from ruptured vessels. This was the reason Zach had been in a coma for such a long time.

Blake worriedly asked, “What should we do now?”

Kai responded, “He has to undergo surgery as soon as possible.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
