The Legacy of the Alpha King: Hiding his Secret Twins Chapter 59 by Ebony Woods

Evelyn POV

The invitation was for an overnight stay at the Blue Moon pack which wasn’t uncommon. Most Alphas had to travel some distance to one another and it seems only polite to give them a comfortable bed for the night in gratitude for travelling all that way.

Pierce enjoyed teasing me, saying that I was a Hollywood film star travelling with my entourage. We took up quite a few rooms and I did worry we over imposed on Alpha Ivo. But he seemed to understand my security concerns and was more than happy to accommodate.

We had travelled in our own pack cars, with Noah being in ours, with the children and I. Reuben followed with Nate, Cassandra and Pierce, with a mixture of security detail following.

Was this to be our lives from now on? Reuben following in the car behind or in front, always a level of separation from his children?

My mind turns to the memory of what happened last night.

(Flashback)

After being alone with Reuben again last night I actually shifted and went for a run, something I didn’t do as often as I should. And it felt good. I let her take complete control which allowed me blank out and just have a short break.

Being a mother, being an alpha was never ending. Always prepared, always ready to jump into action. Knowing Vicky was out there planning something didn’t afford me the time to rest.

I let my wolf take control for hours, gave her full permission to explore the pack lands and the borders. Just before shifting back to skin form, she found the bramble bush at the field behind the alpha house where Reuben jumped out of those few weeks ago.

Rather than moving along to find mice or rats, she laid on her tummy whimpering at the bramble bush, under the moonlight.

“What’s wrong?” I came forward, as she opens up to me, letting me know she was ready to shift back.

“His wolf keeps calling out to me…”

I didn’t need to ask her whose wolf she meant.

“He does?”

“I don’t know what to do…you’re so angry still.” She sounded torn and I felt guilty for not letting her out more.

“I am angry but, not so much at him. I am angry at him still, angry that he didn’t see the signs, that he still chose  her. Because he did didn’t he? He chose to listen to her, to believe her over me. I get it, he was manipulated by her but it still hurts that I wasn’t given the opportunity to explain. To tell him we were pregnant with his pups.”

“You need to tell him this.” She whined looking up at the moon.

“Maybe but once he finds Vicky he’ll leave. He has an alliance to run and so do I. Best just to go our separate ways.”

“You’re dumb sometimes.” She growled at me.

“Excuse me?”

“He is the father to our children, we are tied to him for life. He won’t give them up, he will always want to know where they are, what they are doing even if from his own pack. He will always now be in our lives.”

“In their lives, and I’ll support that.” I corrected her. “Evelyn?” Noah’s voice entered my mind and I know it was time to return. Time for bed.

My wolf returned back to the alpha house to find Noah standing by the back door. As soon as he sees me he walks in giving me privacy to shift. As always he has left my dressing gown by the wall hooks just inside.

I shift back into skin form, now being completely naked. I take a step towards the back door only to sense that someone is watching me.

I turn when I smell his sweetly leathery scent and a cigarette. Standing at the side of the garden I can see the orange embers of his burning cigarette as he places it into his mouth. His eyes burn into mine before they trail down across my naked figure, quickly turning to the hungry predatory state of his wolf that I’m experiencing more of late.

I turn, ignoring him yet giving him a full view of my ass. Why was he out here so late? He should of been asleep.

The celebration was shrouded with the element of mystery and there wasn’t a dress code as such. Only dress to party.

I chose a dusky pink strapless dress that was tight around my figure and finishes just above my knees. I wore my white blonde hair styled to the side and free falling. I wore designer black high heels that came with a red back to the shoe.

Elspeth wore an identical colour dress to me which was a typical girl’s party dress and gave her lots of layers to enjoy twirling. Rex was wearing a shirt and trousers with a little bow tie. Noah was dressed in a navy suit and had gone to get me a drink, which gave me the opportunity to search among the crowd.

I could see alphas from many packs here, alphas that were part of my alliance but that I hadn’t actually met yet. They looked at me not knowing who I was and I was keeping my aura reined in, not giving any clues of who I was.

A few were looking a bit too long for my liking. Their eyes trailing up my figure, perhaps this dress was too tight. I had to wear a thong to stop any possible knicker line, the dress hugged in all the right places. Something I wasn’t really used to wearing but I had to play the part. I couldn’t come as the Silver Moon Alpha dressed in leggings and a baggy t-shirt. Something I was much more comfortable in.

“You look sensational.” Pierce places his arm around my waist from behind and plants a kiss on my cheek.

“Thank you Pierce, you look very handsome yourself.” Bloody alpha genetics. They were always designed to entice you in.

He wore a black tuxedo with the crispiest white shirt and a black patterned bow tie. His pearly grin beamed at my compliment, as all eyes turned to the pair of us.

“We’ll look at that Evelyn. All us are on us.” He chuckles, whispering into my ear.

“I wonder what has caused such a group of alphas to become flustered.” He continues to whisper into my ear.

“You’re teasing me Pierce.” I give him a pointed look.

“Not at all. Look watch. Watch how I walk alway and the alphas zone in on me. Not to talk to me but to find out

who I was standing next to, who the lady in pink is.” He oozes confidence as he walks away from me, towards an empty table to look engrossed in the menu for tonight..

Soon enough a group of alphas and betas rush over to him, surrounding him with whispers. His eyes find mine and he gives me an amused wink before engaging in conversation.

I looked around to see where Noah had gotten to when I find him talking to Nate at the bar. Those two were becoming as thick as thieves recently.

My cheeks start to blush as I feel eyes on me again but this time was different, this time I know exactly whose eyes are on me. I turn to see him talking to Beta Milo and Alpha Ivo, seemingly engrossed in conversation but I could tell he wasn’t listening to a word that was being said.

His eyes held that hunger as they looked at me, trailing me up and down. Just like the other alphas had done at this party, but this time was different. I was doing the same to him.

He looked orgasmic, so much so that a gasp escapes my mouth. He was wearing a light grey suit that hugged him in all the right places, showing off just how muscular he really is. He was wearing a navy silk tie with a tie clip that was placed down his torso, tempting me to touch his muscular stomach. Starting with a finger poking through the gap by his buttoned to then progressing quickly to ripping the shirt off him completely.

He seemed to understand my own seductive look at him and an arrogant smirk enters on to his face which soon turns into a scowl. His eyes follow the group of men huddled around Pierce and I can hear what two of them are exactly saying.

“Fuck, shame I brought my Luna with me. I’d be all over that otherwise.” I’m disgusted by one of their lack of respect not only for me but for his own mate and Luna.

“Good thing I’m not mated then, by the end of the night I’ll be tapping in on that on the bathrooms.” 1

Did men really talk like this, as if I would even give them the time of day?

“You’ve not got a chance…” The mated alpha scoffs challengingly “Oh yeah? Wanna bet?”

“How much?”

“Two thousand….” The unmated alpha’s words are cut off as his throat becomes engulfed by Reuben’s tight grip.

“How much?” He snarls aggressively, pushing the alpha up against the wall. Gasps echo out in the party room.

“How much would you say?” Reuben is in pure red angry king mode, all eyes now on his trembling body and tight hand grip.

“Woah there Reuben…” Pierce rushes over, seeing what the commotion was. “Do you always speak about woman like that?” Reuben growls menacingly in the alpha’s face, who now judging by his pale skin tone, knows exactly who Reuben is.

“No Alpha King.”

“No?” Reuben toys with him, like a mouse caught between his wolf’s paws. “Steady there Reuben….” Pierce places his hand on Reuben’s shoulder trying to calm him down.

“This fucker was insulting Evelyn. Next time keep better company.” Reuben spits out in anger.

“What was he saying?” Pierce now turns on the alpha, joining Reuben and I had to stop things before they got even more out of control. This isn’t how I wanted to be introduced into alpha society.

“I’m sure the alpha has realised his playful antics were disrespectful and will be mindful of saying such things again?” I look to the alpha whose throat was still being tightly gripped by Reuben. I place my hand on Reuben’s face, the only part of skin I can access. Tingles erupt under my touch and I could feel just how hot he was.

“Let’s not make a scene…” I gently offer.

“…tonight is about the Blue Moon pack.” I continue.

To my surprise Reuben loosens his grip around the alpha’s throat.

“The night is over for you!” He growls threateningly at the alpha who nods. and rushes away out of the party room. Pierce chuckles but I’m not ready to find this scenario funny. I could still sense Reuben’s erratic breathing, his anger getting the better of him.

He was still angry and the touching of his face had worked so I do something I never thought imaginable.

I look down to see his hands clasped into tight fists by his side, trying to work out the frustration flowing through his blood.

I place my hand over one of his, which starts to unravel from my touch, just enough for me to place my hand in his and give it a gentle squeeze.

As time passedmore guests arrived to give their congratulations. The entire venue was filled with people. A famous entertainer was also putting on a performance on the main stage. Below, the guests were talking and laughing over some wine. “Dahlia, this is a nice place. You would be the owner in the future, right?” Florence glanced around, thrilled. “Mom, I’m just partners with the Harmon family. I’m merely a secondary stakeholder even if we established a company together,” Dahlia explained. “That’s good enough. Once we get on the same boat with the Harmon family, we won’t have to worry in the future!” Florence was delighted. “Sis! Your career is booming right now. You must have made a lot of money, right? When are you getting me a nice car?” James smiled flatteringly beside her. “I give you quite a lot of pocket money every month. Is it not enough?” Dahlia asked unhappily. She did not like giving handouts, even to her own brother. “It used to be enough. But I’ve invested all my savings into Nolan Pharmaceuticals, so now I’m broke,” James said exasperatedly. “Then you just sit and wait for the dividends,” Dahlia said dismissively. As she turned around, she caught sight of Dustin and Natasha out of the corner of her eye. “You invited Dustin here? What a downer!” James followed her line of view and frowned. “I didn’t,” Dahlia denied flatly. “He came without any invitationThat’s so shameless!” James grimaced. Then hist gaze landed on Natasha, and he immediately perked up. “Hey, who’s that beauty next to him? She’s stunning!” “What beauty? She’s vixen!” Florence continued rather calmly, “She was the one causing trouble at the Jackson Groupand I nearly slapped her!” “It was her?” James‘ tone turned cold, and he spat, “Shit! Dustin is so heartless. How dare he bring this bitch to such an important occasion today? He’s such an eyesore!” “LookDahlia, he’s finally revealed his true colors. It’s a shame. You were so nice to him, yet he’s so ungrateful, and even tried to ruin this occasion. I have to teach him a lesson today!” As she spoke, Florence got ready to confront him “Mom! Today is the opening ceremony, don’t cause any trouble!” Dahlia quickly grabbed her mother. She knew once her mother started making a scene, it would not end well. “Hmph! I’ll let him get away with it this time!” Although Florence was very upset, she tried to calm herself down. No matter what, she couldn’t embarrass her own daughter. “Dahlia, you’re here?” Chris brought Jeff and walked over with a smile. “Here, I want to introduce you to someone.” “This is Mr. Anderson’s son, Jeff!” Chris stretched out his hand as if he was presenting something valuable. “So, you’re Jeff Anderson? It’s a great pleasure to meet you!” James immediately tried. to curry favor with him. This was Swinton’s most distinguished elite, and he had at much more respected status than him. “I didn’t expect you to come, Mr. Anderson! The Nicholson family is honored!” Florence was smiling broadly. Needless to say, Mr. Anderson’s son had to be some big shot. “Nice to meet you, Jeff.” Dahlia smiled and greeted him warmly. “You must be Ms. Nicholson. It seems the rumors are true, you’re really stunning!” Although he had never met Dahlia, he had heard of her. She was one of the Four Beauties in Swinton and a rising star.
