The Legacy of the Alpha King: Hiding his Secret Twins Chapter 110 by Ebony Woods

Evelyn POV

“I don’t even know why he is still here.” Reuben mumbles.

“He’s trying to help, don’t be so ungrateful.” I tut, pushing his hair aside. It has grown longer in recent weeks.

“I’m not being ungrateful sweetheart… he has his own pack to lead.”

“And I’m sure his pack is managing just fine. Pierce wouldn’t leave them for this long if he thought they were at risk. He’s being a good friend…he’s being supportive.” I gently argue back, reminding Reuben of the truth. Whether he likes it or not.

“Hhmm!”

“What’s does Hhmm mean?”

“It means my sexy naked sex addicted mate…”

“Erm, I’m not addicted..”

“Oh yeah? So how come since marking you, you’ve been following me around. Nesting are we?”

“You make it sound like you don’t want me following you around…”

“Let’s not forget whose pack we are at..” He places a kiss on my bare shoulder.

“Only because…you…insisted on leaving …that my IT wasn’t up to your… standards.” I kiss his chest in between my response, all the way down to his abs. He was right, I was nesting. My wolf was like a love sick puppy,

We were back at the Red Stone pack two weeks after I came out of hospital. I felt fine but Reuben refused to let me out of his sight and Noah was keeping a close watch on me too.

Reuben’s reluctance I would say is for now having marked me and the general. concern of a protective mate. Noah because he still thinks I’m going to have a difficult heat having been bitten by an alpha. Not just an alpha, an Alpha King.

After I checked out of the hospital, Reuben was keen to return and start searching for this missing girl, before his Father found her. Pierce had kindly offered to join us and help with the search. I don’t know why Reuben was being a dick about it.

I had asked Noah to stay and manage the pack as my Beta in my absence but but he and Cassandra seemed keen on escorting us. Which meant Donnie was managing the pack, with a newborn. I felt incredibly guilty and didn’t plan to be away for too long.

Rex and Elspeth also didn’t want to be away from Reuben, which was sweet to see their growing bond. He had already started to train with Rex, only thirty minutes each day…just on keeping his wolf in control during highly stressful scenarios.

Reuben had donated a guest house to Noah and Cassandra, saying it was their’s and that they can make it their home from home.

He’s sneaky, I don’t doubt his generosity to them. But the fact that I am laying naked in his bed, crawled on top of him makes me think he had a secret agenda. The kids were staying with Noah and Cassandra this afternoon, which meant it was 5pm and we’d been in bed together all afternoon. It was perfect, it really was. But I was getting hungry now.

“I was thinking a winter ceremony…” Reuben changes the subject completely.

“Winter?” It was late summer, I don’t think I could wait that long to make him, to complete our bond.

“It would give us time to plan, give the packs enough notice and tighten our security. Two alliances together…we need to be prepared for the political fall out.”

“Which is why I think it’s better for us to visit each pack directly. Let them see our love for one another…what?” I stop as he smirks at me, which pauses my response.

“Nothing…” He shakes his head but can’t fight the smug smile upon his face. “Like I was saying….” Moving on quickly to try and ignore my own slip up on words.

“…I just think, it would speak more….. mmm!” He melts my resolve by sucking on my mark, tingles of pure pleasure electrifying every nerve in my body.

He was devious, completely making me forget what I had been talking about. His lips travelling down to my breasts before he starts to suck on one of my nipples.

He places his hands securely around my waist as he sits us up, his back resting against his black leather head board. Far too bachelor for my liking. It makes me think…

“Woah, easy there sweetheart…” He cups my face, his eyes close to mine trying to calm me down. My alpha wolf became jealous all of a sudden thinking about her…in here. A loud guttural growl had escaped from me, I was an alpha wolf too.

Now marked, my possessiveness only growing by the day.

“Maybe with me marking you, maybe you are going into heat.”

I roll my eyes at him, what has Noah been saying. They had been getting along more lately. I often walked in on them having a quiet conversation, stopping the moment I enter.

“You sound like Noah!”

“So you are…”

“No…I don’t know. We have children…” I shrug, not really knowing myself what to expect.

“Let’s test the theory…” He rolls me off from on top of him, his god-like body moving too quickly for me to fight. He hovers over me, griping my hands in his.

“We need to eat.” I moan as his fingers find my lower core.

“I’m not don’t with you yet. You need to earn that meal.” His eyes flash that dark stormy blue, his desire radiating off him.

Pierce POV

I had been experiencing a strange sensation since seeing that girl running on the CCTV. Something didn’t sit right with me and my wolf kept pushing for me to find her. To stay near Reuben, like he could help us find her.

Nate seemed to think she looked like Reuben, that this girl could be the hidden identity that Odin has been hiding. I don’t see it, she was stunning and he was….Reuben.

My pack was fine, they were staying in touch with me regularly, my beta more than capable to keep things ticking over. It also helped we weren’t part of an alliance, I didn’t have to answer to anyone else and my warriors were only on standby to protect their own. It kept our conflict with other packs low.

Two weeks we’d been viewing CCTV footage…how the hell can someone just disappear?

About a week ago, my wolf kept coming forward..something concerning him. But I couldn’t put my finger on it. I did call my beta and ensure he put the pack on high alert, my wolf was one of the strongest around. Even if a certain King wanted to deny it. If my wolf thought. something was coming, it most likely was.

I was staying at Reuben’s, which, with alpha hearing was a bad idea. I didn’t need to second guess what they were up to. Did they ever stop?

I couldn’t concentrate, my wolf has hardly let me sleep this past week. Plus the noises coming from their room at night, which I seemed to be the only one that heard.

What was even more awkward is I was sitting in Reuben’s office with Nate and some of Evelyn’s warriors. They had offered to help. I think seeing the state of their Alpha in the shipping container angered them to their core, it did me. And she was just a friend, not my leader.

It was 6pm when my phone started to ring, my beta. Why was he calling at this time of night?

“Alpha! We’ve got a lead. There’s footage of a girl entering a small supermarket, paying cash. She matches the facial similarity scan but she has brown hair, not blonde.”

“Was this on human territory or a pack’s land? If so which one?” I ask but am met with a hesitant pause.

“Our pack Alpha, if it’s her, she’s in our pack!”

Fuck, no wonder I’ve been feeling on edge all week. I’ve had a shifter trespasser on my grounds. It all makes sense now. My distance too far from the pack to actually notice it as if I was back at home.

“Check every building, every supermarket! I’m on my way!” I order before I cut the call. “I’ve got a lead, I need to go!” I practically jump up into the air, already flying out of the door.

“I’ll let Reuben know.” Nate’s eyes glaze over, as he enters a mind-link. He needs to know I’m not waiting.

“Can we come?” The Silver Moon warriors look at me, a fire in their eyes.

“Fine, let’s go.”

As soon as we entered my lands we split up and started the search. We had a mixture of warriors, mine, Reuben’s and Evelyn’s.

My man was going to be in trouble when he gets back. He left Evelyn sleeping. Reuben will need a dog house outside for his wolf. At least he had the sense to tell Noah of our movements. We’d been searching for hours, whoever this female was, she was good at hiding.

“Alpha! There’s a girl in an empty warehouse. We are chasing her into the woods now.” One of my men push on my mind-link.

“Where?”

“Warehouse B15.” He confirms before I cut the mind-link.

“Possible ID, let’s go.” I don’t bother with the cars. By cutting across the fields into the industrial estate, it will be easier for our wolves and save much needed time.

It doesn’t take us long to get to the location. At first it is quiet until we hear movement in the woodlands ahead. We rush towards the area and I can’t believe my eyes.

The most beautiful female is in front of me. Her hair brown but only because she has dyed it. Her features and skin tone confirm she should be blonde. She is the most delicate thing I have ever seen until I notice she is running towards me…with a metal bar in her hands.

I know instantly what she is to me.

I don’t stop, my wolf keeps running until she halts before us. Fear in her eyes from what she sees before her. Was she not used to this amount of wolves in one place? Or it could be the different scents we were giving off, we had a mixture of packs after all.

Something inside of me wanted to calm her nerves, to help her. I take a step forward only for Reuben, the prick, to nudge into me. It’s a move of dominance my wolf doesn’t appreciate. This is my lands, and I’ll be damned if I follow a king who I am not even sworn in to follow.

Our wolves fight, Reuben’s stronger than I remember. The bastard, he’s lending on strength from his mate. Who also happens to be an alpha.

It’s not until Evelyn arrives, eyes looking like daggers that Reuben remembers his place, with her helping him. Our fight stops and my eyes turn back to the trespasser.

My eyes lock back onto her, a gravitational pull. My soul no longer mine, it belongs to her.

My wolf relinquishes all control to me and I shift, needing my human eyes, my human skin to see and touch her. She flinches back at my sudden movement, before she gazes upon my body.

I could smell she was related to Reuben but what I couldn’t understand is why her own scent was weak. I couldn’t make it out, but it didn’t deter my wolf. He knew what she was to us, what we had been searching for.

“Mine.” I growl, looking into the eyes of my mate.

Needless to say, Mr. Anderson’s son had to be some big shot. “Nice to meet you, Jeff.” Dahlia smiled and greeted him warmly. “You must be Ms. Nicholson. It seems the rumors are true, you’re really stunning!” Although he had never met Dahlia, he had heard of her. She was one of the Four Beauties in Swinton and a rising star.
