The Legacy of the Alpha King: Hiding his Secret Twins Chapter 100 by Ebony Woods

Evelyn POV

He’s clearly paying her, keeping her in a somewhat lavish lifestyle. This isn’t an ex-Luna-wannabe on the run who’s been sleeping in the woods, roughing it every night. She looked just as immaculate as she did when she invaded the Red Stone pack all those years ago. Completely turning my world upside down.

“Oh Evelyn, how the mighty have fallen.” She sniggers, enjoying my fall from grace, or how she seems to see me in her head. She can’t help but flash her teeth to me, a warning shot to my wolf to calm down.

“See, he’s not marked you…I told you, you mean nothing to him.” She stops right in front of me, kicking at my legs that where held apart, tied too tightly to the chair legs under these chains.

She held all the power right now and she bloody knew it. She was drunk on it.

I refuse to listen to her bitter remarks, she was still jealous, just as twisted. What did she aim to achieve by holding us hostage, she failed once with Rex, I’d make sure she’ll fail again.

“Disgusting, what kind of alpha gets covered in blood…a weak one.” She sneers as she starts to turn away from me, her eyes turning to Cassandra. No bitch, you keep your eyes on me.

“A kidnapped one. Kidnapped by my mate’s psychotic ex… what’s wrong.. didn’t know he was my fated mate.” I smirk, noticing her jaw tense and her hands ball into fists.

“I wouldn’t worry, I have a feeling Reuben is going to be single again very soon.” She slowly turns to face me again. I’m at the receiving end of her glare which is filled with so much hatred, but at least her eyes are on me and not Cassandra.

“We’re you followed?” She talks to the rogue but keeps her eyes locked on me. Not even giving him the courtesy of turning to face him as she barks at him.

She certainly enjoys poking her fingers into my head, the pain shooting down the side of my head and face. I have to bite down the scream that wants to follow, I’m determined not to give her the satisfaction.

“No, we were not followed.” He responds confidently and my heart sinks, surely someone will know we are missing by now?

“You’re certain?”

“What’s the matter? Can’t handle some aggressive warrior action…” I retort, unable to keep my sarcasm hidden.

“How’s that for you, wench!” She spits out as she slaps me across my face. A crack and the sharp explosion of pain follows.

A loud growl resonates in the shipping container and at first I think it’s Noah, but it’s not…it was Rex. Who is now standing, handcuffed, behind Vicky.

“Leave her alone!”

“Or you’ll what squirt? Sit down!” She pushes him down on the floor and I want to bite her into tiny pieces for touching him. I yank and pull at the chains but they won’t budge. Shit!

“So the beta has a mate now? Funny how things turn out isn’t it?” She chuckles to herself as she pulls a gun from out of her back waistband and oddly removes the bullets from it.

The rogue then places his hand in hers, dropping different bullets in her palms. Bullets that held a slight silver tinge to them.

Only a fellow alpha would hear the slight change in my heartbeat just then, Reuben would have been all over that telltale sign. A slight sign of fear from the silver bullets and my children, being in the same confined space.

I didn’t take my eyes off what she was doing. She was placing the new bullets into the gun and I had a feeling silver wasn’t the only new addition to this weaponry. I needed to act fast, I needed to get Rex and Elspeth out of here.

“Vicky…please…let my children go. They haven’t done anything to you, just let them go.” I try to plea to any warmth left in her heart, but I know it is already too late for the she-devil.

“I understand your predicament Evelyn. But, they are also his children. and will serve their purpose soon enough. Where was I? Oh yes, the female beta…” She directs her attention back on to Cassandra and this time I don’t fight her for it. I want to glance around the setting, see if there is any way out, any chance my babies can at least get to safety.

She taunts Cassandra, claiming she assumed we were together…trying to twist the knife in where it hurts.

Noah is concentrating on Cassandra, mind-linking her supportive words, I can tell by their glazed over eyes. But she holds strong, not letting Vicky’s words get to her.

Seemingly bored of not getting the reaction she wanted out of my female beta, Vicky turns to Noah.

“Which one?”

“Excuse me?” Noah breaths out.

“Which one Doctor Noah? The alpha or the mate? Which one can you not live without, which one would you save?” Her lips curl up in the corners, she was enjoying herself.

“You’re sick in the head…” Noah shakes his head, refusing to play her sick games.

“Come on, I’m helping you out here. You can pretend, we can all pretend that it was the only choice to make. I mean…you can’t kill a mother in front of her pups can you?” She shoves the gun into Noah’s hand, signalling for the rogue to step forward and point his own gun at my children. Horror, pure unmeasurable horror ripples through me as my children are threatened. The realisation of what she is suggesting… Noah has to shoot or one of them will die.

I pull at my chains, a caged beast trying to be released from its confines. I pull until I start to cut at my skin, my wolf whimpering from the pain.

“Suck it up!” I scream at her through my mind.

“Luna!” One of the men shout at Vicky from outside. Luna? She’s got some nerve. Smirking from not being finished with us just yet, she snatches the gun back from Noah’s restricted hands and walks towards the exit.

As soon as she’s out of sight I mind-. link Noah.

“Shoot me!”

“Don’t be fucking ridiculous, I’m not shooting anyone.” He growls back at me.

“That’s what she wants you to say, shoot me…or she’ll take the choice away.”

“Evelyn…”

“Noah, they’ve got a gun pointed at the children. You will shoot me or they’ll die…go for a clean shot…”

“No…”

“Shoot me Beta, that’s an order from your Alpha!” I roar through the mind- link releasing my alpha command on to him. I can feel it darken the already poorly lit container.

“Hey!” The rogue shouts at me, forcing me to cut the mind-link.

“No secret chats now…” He smirks, pointing the gun at the back of Rex’s head.

“You fucking dog, I’m going to skin you alive.” I snarl pulling at these chains again.

“Huh, we’ll see shall we…” He moves the gun to Elspeth and my heart stops as my little girl whimpers from the frightening prospect of being shot.

“No…No…” I calm myself down, showing him my surrender.

“Elspeth. Elspeth it’s okay. look at Mummy and Daddy, keep your eyes on us.” I softly coax Elspeth to look at me or Noah, to keep her eyes on us only. Her sobs start to slow as she works hard on controlling her breathing. Where was her bunny? She’d be doing better with bunny to comfort her.

I look around the container to see if bunny is nearby but it wasn’t, it must be still in the car. That’s when Vicky walks back in, her walk even more dramatic, more slutty. Who was she showing off to now?

That’s when he follows her in, staring at her butt as she wiggles it with every step. His eyes flash to mine in an instance, before taking in the scene before him.

“What’s going on here?” He grunts, his eyes on Elspeth with the gun to her head.

“Welcome Alpha Odin, we were just terminating some rats that got in our way.” Vicky laughs like a banshee.

“That won’t be necessary now Vicky.” He responds to her but returns his eyes to me.

“Oh?” She quirks an eyebrow at him, a slight wobble to her voice. “Yes, change of plan.” He smirks, his eyes darting the length of me, before landing on my head wound.

“What change in plan?” She growls at him, turning to face him. “I’ve decided to make Evelyn mine.”

Needless to say, Mr. Anderson’s son had to be some big shot. “Nice to meet you, Jeff.” Dahlia smiled and greeted him warmly. “You must be Ms. Nicholson. It seems the rumors are true, you’re really stunning!” Although he had never met Dahlia, he had heard of her. She was one of the Four Beauties in Swinton and a rising star.
