Chapter 1820 My Baby
Kai went over to carry Nicole’s things while Clayton pushed her wheelchair.
As soon as they went out, Clayton draped a blanket and a scarf over Nicole that he had prepared long ago.
Before she had a chance to look outside, the scarf covered her face. She was wrapped tightly.
The next second, a pair of strong arms went under her and carried her up horizontally.
In the blink of an eye, Nicole was placed in the backseat of a car. She then heard the sound of the door closing.
Kai tactfully sat in the passenger seat.
Clayton went around to the other side of the car and sat in the backseat. He did not say anything as he fixed her scarf.
Nicole’s doe-like eyes stared at him in puzzlement.
For a moment, Clayton felt the urge to lower his head and kiss her.
However, he thought about her current condition and was afraid that he would scare her.
Forget it.
The temperature inside the car was just right.
Clayton smiled. His voice was warm and gentle.
“Tell me if you’re uncomfortable. Don’t keep it to yourself.”
Nicole subconsciously nodded her head.
Since he was her husband, it was only right for him to do all this.
Although Nicole still felt a little awkward, she did not reject Clayton’s proximity.
Kai glanced in the rearview mirror and sighed with relief.
He was really worried that the amnesiac Nicole would make a scene.
If that happened, Clayton would be so miserable.
The car drove to the main road.
The driver suddenly spoke.
“Mr. Sloan, are we going back to the apartment or the Stanton Mansion?”
Nicole looked at Clayton and faintly wrinkled her brows.
There was a second option besides the Stanton Mansion?
She instantly became a little nervous.
Nicole realized that the apartment mentioned might be their home after they were married.
It was a strange yet familiar home.
Nicole looked at Kai with pleading eyes.
Although she and the man in front of her were legally married, she still did not want to stay alone with him since she did not remember anything.
Kai naturally saw this, but he could not say anything.
If Clayton said that he wanted to take Nicole back to recuperate, there was nothing wrong with that.
Clayton would not harm Nicole anyway.
There was a moment of silence.
Clayton’s voice was light as he spoke.
“Let’s go back to the Stanton Mansion.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Kai scratched his brow and slowly settled his heart.
This was good. Nicole was more familiar with the Stanton Mansion, so it would be more suitable for her t o recuperate there.
What’s more, Floyd and the baby were all at home.
Nicole’s eyes arched as she leaned back in her chair and smiled.
Clayton did not miss her smile. A smile also surfaced on his face.
Nicole’s thoughts were all written on her face.
She was so different from the decisive Nicole in the office.
Clayton had missed so many years of Nicole’s past. Now that she forgot everything, this was also a chance for Clayton to get to know her again.
This made it all seem more bearable.
The car moved very slowly.
Clayton specially instructed the driver not to drive too fast for fear of a bumpy ride bringing discomfort to Nicole.
Since it was too slow, Nicole fell asleep in the car.
She did not even wake up when they arrived at the Stanton Mansion.
Kai was hesitating whether to wake her up, but Clayton did not plan to wake her up. He even tugged her blanket upward.
Thus, Kai could only shut up.
After waiting for almost an hour, the butler and the rest were surprised to see the car parked there with no one getting out.
Floyd and Grant came out one after the other.
They all knew that Nicole was coming back, so everything was ready. It was a joyful day.
Floyd was so worried about Nicole a few days ago that a good portion of his hair turned white.
Since Nicole was safe, Floyd was full of energy again.
Before Kai could lower the window to warn them, Floyd yanked open the car door. “Why don’t you get out of the car, my baby girl?”
