Clayton naturally heard it.

Kai let out a cold laugh.
“Our family isn’t conservative, and we approve of you two living together since you’re both young. But once you have a child, can you still maintain the status quo? An accident? Who are you trying to fool?”

Clayton froze and instantly became tense again.

Clayton’s whole body was tense and stiff, as if he was meeting Nicole’s father for the first
time.

Nicole smiled and held his hand. “Don’t be nervous. My father has a good temper.”
Clayton was silent for a few seconds and nodded his head.
Kai was speechless.
He must have misheard.
Clayton’s eyes darkened when he glanced at her, then pushed the door open and walked in.
Nicole closed the door and turned to look at Kai.
“Did you just bully him?”
Kai was stunned. “Why would I?”
“He wasn’t that scared before this. You must’ve said something to make him even more
nervous.”
Nicole spoke with certainty.
Kai gritted his teeth and rolled his eyes.
“He deserves it. Don’t side with an outsider. Even if I don’t scold him, Dad won’t let him off the hook. I just gave him a warning so that he can be mentally prepared.”
Nicole paused. She knew that Kai meant well for her, so she could not lose her temper with him.
At once, her attitude softened.
“Third Brother, you can’t mess this up for me! If Clayton leaves, I will never forgive you!”
Kai snorted in anger. “You little ingrate!”
Nicole raised her eyebrows. “Oh, right… You’ll be an uncle to two babies soon, so remember to prepare more gifts.”
Kai’s face turned red with anger. He felt speechless for a moment.
“Are you trying to piss me off?”
Nicole laughed. Kai speechlessly rolled his eyes. Seeing that Nicole did not mind this pregnancy, Kai did not feel so angry anymore.
Not long after, Clayton came out from the ward. His expression looked a little better than expected.
Although Floyd reprimanded him, at least Floyd finally agreed for Clayton and Nicole to get married.
However, the prerequisite was that Clayton could not take Nicole and the child back to Liberty.
Clayton quickly agreed.
He did not want to go back at all and felt that it was nice in Mediania.
