Chapter 1625 Angie’s Released
At this moment, the two people across the table saw Clayton looking at them.
Clayton smiled, raised the wine glass in front of him, and said, “Congratulations.”
Grant and Aida instantly understood. They smiled and nodded, while Grant gestured with his glass and downed the wine inside.
The dining table was lively until almost midnight. Floyd was almost asleep before Kai reluctantly announced the end.
Clayton saw that they were all drunk. Even Mr. Anderson started to snore, so it would be impossible for them to contact their driver
Thus, Clayton could only call his own driver over to send Floyd and Mr. Anderson back to the Stanton Mansion.
On the other hand, Aida and Grant went upstairs to Clayton’s apartment to rest.
Kai simply made do for the night on the living room sofa.
Nicole was satisfied with this arrangement.
Since Floyd and Mr. Anderson were old, their beds were customized according to their physique. If they made do for the night elsewhere, their bodies would ache the next day, and they would not be able to get up.
But where would Clayton sleep?
Clayton was a bit distressed.
Since Grant and Aida were in his house, it would be inconvenient for him to go back to sleep, but if he stayed with Nicole, he was worried that the Stanton family would be upset when they found out.
During his hesitation, Nicole pulled him back to the bedroom.
“Sleep first. You can’t stay up so late.”
Seeing her indifferent face, Clayton sighed and thought about it. He stood up and said, “I’ll go t o the guest room…”
Nicole blinked. “Are you sure?”
Clayton nodded solemnly. “Yes, I must.”
Even if Nicole did not care, Clayton had to give her enough respect in front of her family.
Nicole did not insist.
She waved her hand. “Okay, then go to bed early.”
Nicole was already dizzy from drinking, so she was not polite at that moment and went to bed after washing up.
Clayton slept in the guest room while Kai slept in the living room. There was another guest room, but Nicole did not clean it up yet. Since Kai was not aware, Nicole did not mention it either.
At midnight, Clayton heard the sound of the door opening in a daze. Then, the other side of the bed sank.
The next day. The sky was bright.
Nicole’s phone buzzed and vibrated. It was Yvette’s call.
Nicole picked it up in a daze. “Ms. Quimbey, you’re really not absent every morning!”
“Lil N, did you know? Angie’s released…”
Nicole’s sleepiness disappeared all of a sudden. Her eyes shot open.
“What did you say?”
“It just so happens that Lance’s friend works there. She’s released early this morning. They said that since Caleb is dead, the local government and international anti-terrorism forces have decided to suppress this matter. Although Angie is part of Caleb’s group, she wasn’t deeply involved in his trafficking business. Her only value is to draw out Caleb, and they don’t need her anymore. So… They intend to extradite her to Southeast Asia.”
Nicole sat up and felt a buzzing pain in her head.
“They’re letting her go back to her territory?”
Yvette said, “Southeast Asia is now Snakehead’s territory. Even if Angie goes back, she won’t be able to do anything. On the contrary, she’ll be watched by Snakehead’s people. That’s why they decided to release her.”
Nicole took a deep breath. Even if her heart was in a knot, this has been decided by the authorities, and they certainly would not consult her about it.
“If Angie sees the changes in Southeast Asia, she probably won’t let it be, right?”
Yvette said, “Of course not! Everything was fine when Angie came to Mediania but changed when she went back. Who do you think she hates the most?”
