Nicole kept panicking when she looked at the phone.
She did not know why she was so angry either.

Nicole blushed when she was teased by those words. She paused. ”I just wanted to ask if you ate already.” Clayton’s eyes were filled with tenderness.
He knew that Nicole must have taken the initiative to call him because she missed him. That must be it!
”I haven’t, because I can’t swallow anything without you by my side.”
Nicole was speechless.
Was it necessary to say that?
She knew that it was fake, but her heart still raced because of it.
They spoke for a while.

“Where did you go today?”

Clayton suddenly laughed. His voice was warm. The emptiness in his heart was suddenly filled again.
It was a very warm and pleasant feeling.

Clayton did not continue to ask. He knew in his heart that it was mostly to wrap up Sloan Corporation’s matters.
“Okay, then I’ll wait for you here.”
The assistant knocked on the door outside. ”Mr. Sloan, someone wants to see you.”
