As soon as the door closed, the woman lying in bed immediately opened her eyes.
She got up and grabbed her mobile phone, then retrieved a SIM card from the drawer and inserted it. After restarting the phone, a flurry of messages instantly appeared.
Justin had sent the most messages.
One of them read: “There’s someone following us. I’ll take Ruby on the train.”
Another message said: “We’ve arrived in Rivodia. I accompanied her home, and now she’s searching for evidence.”
This was followed by another message that said: “There are people watching you in Rivodia too. How many groups have you managed to upset?”
Returning might not be as easy as we hoped. Try your best to come back before the 15th.
Today was already the 13th. Josie responded with a simple “received” and then made a phone call. The line was busy for a long time on the other end, causing her to frown as she started to deal with other messages.
Everything seemed normal.
She walked to the balcony and noticed that the security in Mason Garden had not decreased, but rather increased. Her two consecutive escapes had made Dexter more vigilant.
Josie tried calling again, but no one answered. She simply gave up and decided to lie down on the bed to sleep. And once she did, she fell asleep for real.
She slept until the afternoon when Julie knocked on her door to wake her up. “Mrs. Russell, it’s time to wake up.”
Josie opened her eyes and immediately reached for her phone. Morgan had returned her call, but she had missed it, so he sent her a message instead.
After reading it, she responded to Julie, “Coming.”
It seemed that as the time drew near, the number of guards in Mason Garden had decreased, leaving it rather deserted and lifeless.
Julie made her a meal. “The flight is long, so you need to eat something.”
Even Julie knew about it.
Josie sat at the dining table, not seeing Dexter anywhere. All that was left was a neatly packed bag without any luggage in sight.
Julie quickly said, “What Mr. Russell means is that once we get to the place, we will start everything anew.”
The phone on the side vibrated. Josie glanced at it and picked it up, remaining silent.
Dexter’s voice came through from the other end of the line. “Let me know when you’ve arrived safely.”
Josie’s face went numb. After a while, he finally said, “You don’t even want to see me for the last time?”
“We’ll see each other again soon.”
She tugged at her lips, only responding after a few seconds. “Indeed.”

After hanging up the phone, Josie began to eat, simultaneously instructing Julie, “I need to bring my laptop too. Could you please pack it for me?”
Julie was taken aback. “Mr. Russell suggested that—”
“The file with my drawings is inside. I can’t replace it.”
After a moment of hesitation, Julie decided it wouldn’t matter if she brought the computer along, so she agreed.
On the top floor of Russell Group.
The night grew darker, and the lights from above were shining brightly. Dexter stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his aura becoming increasingly intense.
Zachariah sat at the back, leisurely sipping his tea. “If you ask me,” he said, “I wouldn’t let her leave. Let her stay in Wavery at Olsen Residence. I’m quite curious to see what kind of storm she could create.”
Calvin chuckled. “That wouldn’t just be a bloodbath. It could turn the entire Wavery upside down.”
Dexter’s face grew darker and darker. Larry approached him cautiously. “Mr. Russell, you haven’t rested for a whole day and night. You should get some sleep. It’s going to be a long journey to Nalanica.”
“Leave me alone.”
Larry had no choice but to bow his head and step back. He signaled to Zachariah and Calvin, who understood and waved their hands in response.
At six in the evening, Josie was taken to the airport. She had no belongings with her, only a bag. Before she left, she wrote a note: “Mrs. Carroll, after I leave, please contact this person and make sure Pepper is sent to her.”
“Alright.”
As the vehicle passed by Russell Group, Josie looked up, but the building was too tall to see anything.
