Every time he lent a hand, it was in anticipation of a return, sooner or later. Josie rose from her seat and headed out, mentioning that she was going to the restroom.
Justin stood guard outside the door, appearing extremely dedicated. Josie finally understood. There was no danger at all in today’s outing. Dexter had simply brought her out for a breath of fresh air.
“You really intended to work for Dexter.”
Justin replied rather haughtily, “Of course not.”
“So, what is this you’re doing…”
“Just getting a head start on adjusting to the work.”
No matter what job it was, in the end, it was all about serving Dexter. Josie didn’t point this out, instead, she told him she was going to the restroom and would be back shortly.
What they all failed to notice was that around the corner, someone’s footsteps had abruptly halted. A woman, dressed in vibrant attire, had her hands crossed and was intently fixated on the charming figure ahead.
“Who was that?”
The attendant by her side thought she was asking him. “Ms. Strauss, I can’t see the face clearly.”
“Even if she were reduced to ashes, I would recognize her without seeing her face,” Rachel muttered to herself. After speaking, she tailed Josie. It was strange. Why is she here?
“Go downstairs and call for three, no, make it five security guards to come up,” Rachel ordered.
“Okay.”
The business at this club was thriving, with almost every private room occupied. As Josie passed by, she observed carefully. Upon reaching the restroom and noticing the interior design, she noticed that this was Arnold’s style, reminiscent of his lofty Sky Palace.
She was here to cause trouble last time, so she didn’t pay attention to all these details.
Outside the restroom, the security guards approached. Upon seeing Josie’s side profile, one of the guards recognized her. “She’s been here before, causing quite a commotion in Mr. Mills’ private room last time, and in the end, Mr. Mills had to escort her out!”
“Mr. Mills?” Rachel was quite surprised. So, Arnold had indeed known all along.
“Indeed, she even slapped Mr. Mills, leaving us all stunned.”
One of the security guards, clutching a baton in his hand, hesitated. “Should we really be doing this? Will Mr. Mills hold us accountable if he finds out?”
After hearing this, Rachel became even more furious. She was practically gritting her teeth, her voice icy cold. “Who’s the boss here, him or me? If I told you to go, you go!”
At this hour, the women’s restroom wasn’t crowded. Josie walked out from it, and just as she turned the corner, she felt a force gripping her hair. “Ah!”
A scream echoed through the corridor, piercing into Justin’s ears. He reacted instantly, knocking on the compartment door before striding toward the women’s restroom. His leg injury hadn’t fully healed, making his run difficult.
Upon hearing the noise, Dexter and the others immediately came out. They then saw the back of Justin and realized something was wrong. His face was gloomy as he strode off hastily.
Josie had already been dragged to the ground, the back of her head hitting the hard surface with a thud. The batons struck down on her. The pain was so intense that tears fell from her eyes. “Who are you?” she demanded.
These individuals showed no mercy in their actions, causing Josie to scream incessantly.
Just then, a figure suddenly kicked away the guards, shielding Josie behind him, blocking the blow that was about to land on her face.
Josie’s eyes widened in shock as she saw Dexter recklessly throwing himself into the fray. The blow landed on the back of his neck, causing him to grunt in pain, his expression faltering.
“Dexter!”
Due to a leg injury, Justin arrived late. He then began to engage in a fight with those few individuals.
Dexter, almost gritting his teeth, pulled Josie by the hand. “Get up,” he said.
Josie was pulled into a safe corner. After Dexter had thoroughly examined her, the vivid red wounds on her body nearly shattered his heart. Anger surged within him, and with a swift kick, he sent a resisting security guard flying several meters away.
