Upon returning to Dexter’s residence, Josie noticed that there were guests inside. They were gathered in small groups, dressed in plain clothes, and their figures were quite distinctive and familiar. Josie, supporting Paul, entered and immediately spotted Scott.
He had arrived in Rivodia.
Scott hadn’t changed much. “Ms. Warren!” His gaze then fell upon Paul. “We’ve heard about your father’s situation. We apologize for not initiating the rescue immediately, which led to Interrupting, Josie said, “This has nothing to do with all of you.”
She exchanged a glance with Dexter, who was seated in the main seat. His gaze was indifferent, silently inquiring about her condition.

Dexter had specifically instructed his staff to prepare a room for Paul, It was located on the first floor, very close to his own bedroom. This way, he could be immediately aware of any situation that might arise.
Once Paul had settled down, only then did Josie step out.
Apart from Scott, there seemed to be several other plain-clothes police officers present, and their ranks were even higher. They were engaged in conversation with Dexter.
“The fact that Arnold could appear as Robyn indicates that he had enough confidence to prove he was not Arnold. “La Oriele burned all through the night, yet not a single contraband item was found. Clearly, someone was covering his tracks.”
Scott analyzed, “Mr. Dalton is the real puppet master behind the scenes. Since he’s stirring up trouble here, the backer shielding him from behind must be substantial.”
“Determining who the backer is, for all of you, will be considered overstepping your bounds, won’t it?” Dexter said lightly.
“Yes, Wavery’s reach isn’t that far, but… If it’s about investigating Arnold, one could indeed follow clues to get results.” After the leader finished speaking, he expressed his concern, “However, to investigate him, we need a lot of evidence.”
“Since he has come out, he wouldn’t do nothing. There would be opportunities.”
“Oh? It seems Mr. Russell has long been informed. Why not share?”
“A week later, the renovation of La Oriele will open for bidding, and I will arrange for someone to participate.”

Dexter slightly lifted his gaze, his eyes landing on Josie, who had been standing in the corner listening for quite some time. He softly said, “Come over.”
Josie’s back stiffened involuntarily, her mind drifting back to the words Arnold had spoken not long ago. In that situation, she couldn’t utter a word.
“Ms. Warren? Isn’t that too risky?” Scott didn’t quite agree.
Josie moved to Dexter’s side. Instead of rushing to respond, he stood up, shoulder to shoulder with her, and introduced, “You know Scott. This is Mr. Ziegler from Wavery and Mr. Hackett.”
They were all of insignificant status. Josie nodded in greeting, then turned to Scott and asked, “Sergeant Buncho, why do you think I’m taking a risk?”
Scott didn’t respond immediately, because the answer was clear. In the two years of her disappearance, too many things had happened, and her identity was not clear enough.
In the silence, Dexter gazed at her. “Rest assured, she and I have already reconciled our past differences. There are no more secrets between us. Furthermore, the case involving Paul is directly connected to her. I firmly believe that without her involvement, Arnold will not be ensnared.”
