Oops! I Married A CEO By Mistake Chapter 77

77-Chloe’s call

This meeting was not held in any conference room of the hotel. Abigail went to a warehouse located near the hotel with all the participants of the program. All their wood furniture was placed in the warehouse.

They all were waiting for her a bit confused because they were used to getting invited to sophisticated rooms with comfortable seats.

Ethan wanted to record the meeting and Abigail agreed to it.

She walked in with an air of confidence and style. Wearing khaki ankle-length pants paired with a maroon semi- formal chiffon blouse. A pair of diamond studs were there to complete the look.

“Welcome everyone. I am Abigail Levisay, state head of the Empowerment program. I know Ethan Quest is managing it here in Manhattan for us for quite some time and he is doing exceptionally well. But the reason for coming here was to be loud and clear about a few things.”

She paused and waved frantically around her.

“This is your furniture. Most of the pieces here are quite classy. Personally, I would love to purchase those pieces. But some of you are using poor quality wood, and I am afraid to announce that we would terminate the contract straight away if our financial grant would be wasted just like that.”

She walked towards a small coffee table and hit it two to three times as a result of which wood shavings came off in powdered form. Then she lifted the coffee table.

“I am NOT disclosing who this belongs to. But this is too lightweight. Feels like Veneer wood. Very poor quality wood is used here. Please take this meeting as a warning sign.” She placed back the coffee table.

“We are bound by a contract. Levisay International has the right to terminate the contract plus we can take legal action too. If you think you are not competent enough you are welcome to leave the program.”

“How well you know something about woods?” A voice came from the participants. “Hiring a carpenter and learning a few terms from him is something easy to do now a days. Right?” There was a smirk on the lady’s face. The sarcastic bite in her tone could not dampen Abigail’s mood.

Abigail raised an eyebrow, “For me, there is nothing to be ashamed of for learning one or two things from a carpenter. However, I have lived throughout my life among these wood pieces and the finest carpenter.” She took a pause, smiling proudly. “And that carpenter happened to be my father. So I know how it works.”

Walking towards them, Abigail stood there observing each one of them,

“My suggestion would be if your wooden furniture is not up to the mark then we are ready to give you last chance. Pick up your furniture, bring back the new one with the best quality. And we are good to go. No legal action. No termination. But once we would take action then nothing can stop us. We would make sure that it gets printed in news as well. Which means no future opportunities for you. So please play smartly.”

After the meeting, she came office and was about to open a file when she received a call on her phone.

“Yes?” she asked busily.

“Abi, it’s me.” A female voice appeared on the phone. And Abigail knew that voice.

“What do you want?” She asked a little indifferently

“Abi. I need a job. Please help me to find one in your office. I need it.”

Taking a deep breath Abigail stared at the phone, “What makes you think that I have one?”

“Then maybe invent one!” That was typical Chloe style.

Abigail had to suppress her anger, ” Chloe. Better talk to Hunter.”

“I did! I went to the office today. To meet him.” Abigail gave a damn if Chloe went the office to beg or to seduce him but she was surprised.

“You went… What do you mean?” now Abi was getting irritated.

“Didn’t Hunter tell you? Strange. I went there to talk to him.”

“Then?” Abi shrugged. “What did he say?”

“He said that you are the owner and I should talk to you.” She could smell jealousy in Chloe’s tone but the way Hunter called her owner in front of her sister told Abi that he had still got her back.

You are a gentleman, Levisay.

She was quiet for a minute, when Chloe spoke again, “Kyle got this contract from McKenzies but lost it because of you. You owe this to us. We got it after so much hard work.”

“Excuse me Chloe! Are you crazy?” Abigail laughed, “Believe me. It took equal hard work to lose it.”

“Stop calling me crazy. He is my husband to be and I do understand that you two were very close friends. You should have been careful. Abigail! He needed this job because now he has got a family. A child on the way.”

“Chloe. Now shut up and listen to me.” Abigail was seething with anger, “Not only you but also your husband TO BE is crazy. No, I and Kyle were NOT just friends but also engaged. It is your fiancé who needs to be careful if he is about to become a father.”

Abigail was getting more furious each minute. “If he needed the job, he should have controlled his emotions and his hands. If he would slap me ever again then I would slap back not only his face but somewhere so delicate that he would never be able to produce a sibling for your child.” With that, a fuming Abigail almost threw the phone.
