Oops! I Married A CEO By Mistake Chapter 69

69- Hunter’s wreath

By the time Hunter and Abigail were back from their honeymoon, Ethan had already left for Manhattan. Abigail’s showroom was almost done and she wanted to make it functional before next week.

Today was his first day at the office. He wanted to get done with the floors’ visit. Abigail went to the showroom and promised him to reach the office for the scheduled meeting.

After taking a detailed report from James and Mrs. Ann he stood up for taking the rounds which were overdue. Today it was supposed to take time because he needed to meet and greet the employees. He wanted to observe the environment.

Upon reaching the working floor, he found some commotion going on. With knitted brows, he reached to the cabin which used to belong to Abigail.

There was some heated argument going on. Jian who was now occupying it was being loud to two workers who worked under the Security head, Costner Alan.

“What is going on?” The cold voice made them go still. Benjamin and Jenson who were from the security department gulped down the fear and looked at each other.

“I won’t repeat my question.” Hunter was getting irritated now. Clearing his throat Benjamin came forward and showed him the file.

“Sir. Costner asked us to search the office. We were just doing our duty. We found an old file of quotations from this cupboard.”

Hunter quietly took the file and flipped the pages. This was the same file that was stolen by Liam. What was it even doing here?

“From where did you find it? From Jian’s cupboard?” Hunter was trying his best to decipher the situation.

“No, sir. Jian was not using the cupboard. This cupboard belonged to Mrs. Abigail Levisay and is untouched since then.”

“Excuse me?” Hunter eyed them questioningly.

“The cupboard belonged to Mrs. Abigail Levisay,” Jenson told him excitedly. He had reached a conclusion where even his boss Costner Alan could not reach. “The file was taken by her. All this time when we thought someone stole the file. It was lying here in her cupboard…”

The poor man could not even get the chance to complete it when without warning, Hunter reached to him taking long strides, with full force he lifted him up by holding his collar.

“What did you say?” He asked between his clenched teeth, “Say. It. Again.”

“Sir!”

“Hunter!”

Mrs. Ann and James both were horrified by this unexpected outburst.

“How dare you!” Hunter roared with his bloodshot eyes. The people around them were dead quiet. There was pin-drop silence on the floor. Except Hunter’s voice of course.

When James repeatedly asked Hunter to let the man go who was choking badly. Hunter dropped him like a sack. The man was holding his neck trying to take stable breathing. Hunter had almost choked him to death.

“James. Give him the letter. He is fired.” Hunter wanted to strangle the man, “And ask Costner to hire a professional instead of such punitive.”

He was still seething with anger when he went back to the office. The two amateurs had taken advantage of Costner Alan’s absence.

When Abigail entered his office, he was having difficulty controlling his anger. She did hear about some disturbance on the floor but nobody dared to tell her that it was about her.

“Hunter. What exactly happened?” She wanted to know when Mrs. Ann opened the door.

“Costner is here.” She just announced letting the bald man inside.

“I was not in the office. I am sorry whatever happened.” Costner knew Hunter would take back the newly hired boy. Poor him had tried to become over-smart but learned his lesson too.

Hunter was not uttering a word and just shook his head at Costner asking him silently not to say a word in front of his wife.

Costner did take the message and bowed his head to take the leave. Abigail stood behind Hunter and started pressing his nape, shoulders, and shoulder blades, lightly.

“Close your eyes. Take deep breaths. Inhale. Exhale.” She kept instructing him softly. Once he rested back his head, she leaned forward a little and kissed his forehead. Holding her hands in his, he kissed them.

“Thanks.” He smiled.

“My pleasure, Mr. Levisay.” She batted her eyelids dramatically.
