Shen Qi waited outside after she told Han Xueyou her exact location.
After about 20 minutes, Han Xueyou arrived in a car. When the car halted, Shen Qi opened the door and went straight in.
“What happened?”
“Let’s go to the company now. I’m late. I’ll tell you everything on the road.”
Upon hearing that, Han Xueyou pressed on the accelerator.
“Why did he confiscate your phone all of a sudden? Did you offend him in any way? Or did you expose something unexpectedly?”
Upon hearing that, Shen Qi shook her head. “No. I didn’t expose anything. But we had a fight last night.”
“A fight? Tell me everything.”
Shen Qi did not go into details of the fight. She only told Han Xueyou the reason the fight started.
“Damn. He’s really not into you as he’s always picking on you. He’s got such a sharp tongue.”
Shen Qi felt a sense of loss when she heard ‘He’s really not into you’. She nodded in sadness. “True. He should be very resentful of me.”
“According to my analysis, you didn’t expose yourself yet and you didn’t say anything strange, then there’s no way he could have found out about it. After all… only you and me know about it, right?”
Shen Qi nodded with a heavy heart. “You’re the only one I told.”
“Ok, good. Then I guess he took your phone just to tease you, because… If he wants you to pay the price, then he’ll want you to go through all kinds of torture and torment.”
“Xueyou, this is not the right time to analyze the situation. Our chat messages are kept on the phone and he may discover them.”
“Damn. How could you not delete such important messages?”
Shen Qi agreed that she was not mindful enough. “I have deleted the old messages, but there are some recent ones. It never crossed my mind that he’d suddenly take away my phone.”
“What should we do now? Your phone is confiscated and he’s not willing to return it. You can only pray that he’s not going to go through your phone.”
Shen Qi felt a headache and pinched the center of her brows. Han Xueyou looked at her helplessly and could not help but chide, “I can’t believe how foolish you are. You should have deleted everything, then you’d have nothing to worry about.”
Shen Qi was speechless.
“Let me send you to the company first. Don’t fret about it. We’ll see how it goes and act accordingly.”
After she finished, she stuffed a phone into Shen Qi’s hand. “Take it. It’s my phone.”
Shen Qi nodded. “Oh! How about you?”
“Silly girl! This is my spare phone. I still have a main phone.”
“Alright.”
“We’re here. Call me when you need my help. See how it goes and act accordingly. Take your phone back as soon as possible.”
After she got out of the car, she turned around and looked at Han Xueyou with a sense of concern. Han Xueyou waved her hands and said, “Go in.”
Upon hearing that, Shen Qi moved forward and entered the company.
She took a deep breath and told herself to calm down. Don’t fret.
After she entered the company, she went straight to her desk. She realized that it was really quiet in Ye Moxuan’s room, then she decided to make some coffee and give it to him.
When she pushed open the door, she saw that Ye Moxuan’s calm gaze was fixated on the computer screen, his fingers tapping quickly on the keyboard. He looked very focused.
Shen Qi looked around and pursed her lips, then put the coffee on his table.
“Young Master Ye, your coffee.”
Ye Moxuan did not respond to her at all. She slightly opened her mouth and wanted to ask when he would return her phone. Before she could speak, she suddenly came to her senses and remembered that she should stay calm. Don’t fret.
Thinking of this, Shen Qi suppressed the thoughts she had, then she put down the coffee and turned to leave the office.
Hearing that the door was closed, and the person who came in was so silent—as though no one had actually come in earlier, Ye Moxuan could not help but raise his gaze and stare at the coffee.
She didn’t ask me for the phone?
Ye Moxuan squinted, then took her phone out from his pocket.
It was indeed an old and obsolete phone which could be disposed of without batting an eye. But the sight of Shen Qi fretting over her lost phone last night prompted his curiosity to find out the secrets on this phone.
But he did not do it, for he was not a prying man.
If it wasn’t for the call her ex husband made, he would never intend to confiscate her phone.
If he returned the phone to her, her ex husband might call again and they might even meet up…
Thinking of this, Ye Moxuan hesitated no more and made a call to Xiao Su.
“Go buy a new sim card and bring over a pin.”
Xiao Su on the other side had no idea why, but he did it anyway.
Shen Qi let out a sigh of relief after she returned to her desk.
A beep was heard. She took out the phone and saw that it was a message from Han Xueyou, asking her about her progress.
Shen Qi told her about what happened earlier. Han Xueyou gave her a thumbs up and told her to keep it up, then continued to suggest that she should not confront Ye Moxuan for the entire day, and seize the chance when there is one.
Shen Qi put down the phone and spent the whole day in the blues.
She was really worried that Ye Moxuan would find out about her secrets. Now all she could do was keep calm when dealing with him and never mention the phone.
Ye Moxuan seemed to have forgotten the matter as well.
Before it was time to leave the office, Ye Moxuan suddenly invited her to a dinner.
Shen Qi frowned.
“This is a private dinner right, Young Master Ye? It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with me.”
Ye Moxuan raised his brow. “Come to the dinner as my partner. I will return your phone afterward.”
Upon hearing that, Shen Qi bit her lip.
Damn it, another threat!
She raised her head and stared straight into his eyes. “How do I know if you’re not lying to me? After all…” She remembered that Ye Moxuan lied to her last night.
He promised that he would return the phone for one kiss. But two kisses later, the phone was never returned. How outrageous!
Ye Moxuan sneered, “You don’t want it? I’ll pass by a lake on the way to dinner. If you’re not coming, then I’ll just throw it into the river.”
After he finished, he turned the wheelchair and moved past Shen Qi.
Shen Qi widened her eyes in disbelief, and after 10 seconds she finally came to her senses and chased after Ye Moxuan. “I’m coming!”
Thinking that the woman behind him must be exasperated but helpless, he could not help but smile.
Xiao Su passed a box to Shen Qi.
“Assistant Shen, this dress is for dinner later.”
Shen Qi took it over and went to the restroom to get changed, then stood reluctantly in front of Ye Moxuan.
Looking at Shen Qi who stood in front of him, Ye Moxuan squinted, his eyes gleaming slightly.
