Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 815

Ye Moxuan’s thoughts before George said those words were that he could settle the minor issue regarding the engagement with Duanmu Xue himself over this meeting. That was why he did not take this issue to heart. After settling the issue, everything would go back to normal; everyone would just live life normally and mind their own business.

However, Ye Moxuan felt that his plan was immediately disrupted when George told him this. It was like his well-planned chess game was suddenly disrupted by a rampaging animal, causing all his efforts to be in vain. Ye Moxuan’s aura suddenly became cold after thinking about it, and he looked at George as if he was dead.

The chilling aura he exuded made George subconsciously take two steps backward while he coughed softly trying to defend himself. “Yuchi, you can’t blame me for this since you didn’t let me know about this in advance, right? Plus… when I was calling your little assistant, she didn’t even pick up my calls. I almost broke the phone calling her. I thought she was angry after finding out what was going on…”

Ye Moxuan’s tone turned somber. “Who asked you to interfere in others’ business? Are you too free and have nothing else to do?”

George took a few more steps back again. “No, I’m quite busy. It was just a coincidence. Well, since I’ve reported the situation to you, I’ll be leaving now.” With that, he turned and left without observing Ye Moxuan’s reaction.

After running away for a while, George brought his hands over his chest while looking at Ye Moxuan who was walking toward the direction of his car. Then, he let out a sigh of relief. He hoped he had not messed up too much this time. If both of them were not able to get together ever again, he would have to seek forgiveness with his life.

Han Muzi had been traipsing around for a long time, and only after noticing it was late did she realize she needed to go home. She got a car to send her directly to the gate of her house. After paying for the ride, she got out of the car and looked for her keys when a cold male voice sounded from the dark area on the left. “Where did you go?”

When the cold voice suddenly rang out, it shocked Han Muzi. The keys in her hand also fell to the ground as she exclaimed. She had been deep in thought the entire time and there was not much light here. Furthermore, the taxi had quickly sped away after she got off.

Han Muzi looked at the direction of the sound. There was a small flame flickering in the dark. If she had recognized the familiar voice correctly, it should be Ye Moxuan…

Thinking about Ye Moxuan, Han Muzi naturally thought of his engagement discussion tonight. She was fed up with being in despair as she had been having the same feeling all night. She managed to calm herself down as she bent down to look for her dropped keys. However, a pair of hands picked up her keys faster than she did.

“Why aren’t you replying?”

Han Muzi remained silent. With the faint moonlight, she reached out for the keys in his hand. “Thank you. I went out to dinner with my friends.” Her soft fingers rubbed his palm unconsciously when she took the keys from him.

Ye Moxuan did not know what happened at that moment, but he wanted to grab hold of her hand to make her stay. She took the keys from him and opened the gate when he was stunned for a moment. He looked at her quietly while extinguishing the cigarette in his hand before following her in.

After a few steps, Han Muzi stopped walking when she realized he was following her. “What are you doing?”

“The road is dark. I’ll send you upstairs.”

Han Muzi did not say anything. She wanted to ask him why he was at her place this late at night. Didn’t he go to discuss the engagement? Wouldn’t it be ironic for him to come over and look for me right after the discussion? But in the end, she swallowed these words back and walked forward silently.

They soon reached the front of her house and Han Muzi looked at him. “I’m here.”

In the darkness, Ye Moxuan’s eyes seemed to be brighter than the moonlight. He stared at her silently before saying: “Aren’t you going to invite me in for a glass of water?”

Han Muzi was speechless. He took the initiative to make a request.

Remembering what he had done before coming here tonight, she bit her lower lip and replied cruelly, “It’s too late, so it’s not convenient.”

“Heh.” Ye Moxuan laughed softly, took a step forward, and approached her. His warm breath was on her neck.

“Then tell me, why is it inconvenient?” His breath was rubbing against her neck as he spoke. Han Muzi quickly backed away two steps because it was ticklish.

Ye Moxuan seemed to continue walking forward while Han Muzi frantically opened the door. After walking in and turning on the lights, she said, “Sit down. I’ll pour you a glass of water.”

Following behind her and stepping through the door, he closed the door while thinking about how to explain what happened tonight to her. If I made the first move to explain myself, would it cause her to misunderstand my intentions? Should I wait for her to ask before explaining? The latter option seemed more practical to him.

After Han Muzi poured Ye Moxuan a glass of water, the two fell into silence once more. As it was late at night now, it was also quiet all around them. He picked up the glass and took a sip of water from it, waiting for her to ask him questions. However, even after finishing the glass of water, she was still quiet. It did not take long before the glass was empty.

Han Muzi raised her head, reminding him weakly, “Your water’s finished, President.”

Hearing her, he did not know what to say. Feeling a little irritable, he reached out his hand to pull on the tie over his chest. “I still feel thirsty.”

“Oh.” She could only nod her head. “Then I’ll pour you another.” She picked up his glass and went to the kitchen to fill it with water; her movements were slow.

Ye Moxuan watched her pour him a glass of warm water again and put it in front of him. This time, he did not drink it slowly as he was feeling frustrated and ended up chugging the water in a few gulps. The water rushed down his throat. Then, he raised his eyes and saw the woman quietly sitting there with her eyes drooping. She did not appear angry nor lively. The way she looked now made Ye Moxuan’s heart even more irritable, and he suddenly slammed the glass onto the table with a bang.

Han Muzi, who had been sitting quietly, looked up at him in shock but quickly retracted her gaze after a moment.

Finally, he could not help but ask, “You don’t have any questions for me?”

She finally showed a reaction after sitting still the entire time. As if she had something to say, her lips started moving, but after thinking about it, she shook her head again. “I don’t have anything to ask you. It’s already so late now. Don’t you need to go back?”

When her words fell, she heard Ye Moxuan sneering from across her. Looking up, she saw him staring at her with a mocking gaze. Such a look caused the fire in Han Muzi’s heart to be set alight. He was the one who went to discuss engagement matters, yet he refused to talk about it and instead wanted her to speak first.

What should she ask? What right did she have to ask him about this?
