Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 695

The meeting dragged on for a very long time. When it ended, everyone started packing up their stuff in preparation to leave the meeting room.

Xiao Su had endured for several hours. There were a few times when he looked at Ye Moxuan’s stern side profile, and he nearly leaned toward Ye Moxuan’s ear to blurt out, ‘Young Lady Ye is here, she’s waiting for you in your office.’ However, considering Han Muzi had specifically told him not to inform Young Master Ye about her arrival, Xiao Su resisted the impulse and held his tongue.

Therefore, the moment the meeting ended, Xiao Su stepped forward and leaned closed to Ye Moxuan, speaking softly, “Young Master Ye.” Ye Moxuan’s gaze did not leave the document as his lips moved slightly. “Speak.” “Young Lady Ye—”

The moment the words left his mouth, Ye Moxuan’s fingers froze mid-motion. He then raised his head quickly and looked at Xiao Su.

The sharp gaze startled Xiao Su and he took a step back involuntarily. “Y-Young Master Ye—”

“What were you going to say?” Ye Moxuan stared at him; he had heard Xiao Su mention Han Muzi and was sure that he had not heard wrongly.

“Young Master Ye… I meant to tell you that the Young Lady Ye is here. She is waiting for you in your office.” As soon as the words came out, he watched as Ye Moxuan immediately stood up and headed out the meeting room without even bothering to clear his documents. My God, no wonder Young Lady Ye wouldn’t let me inform him! It’s crazy how Young Master Ye is acting!

Xiao Su chased after him. “Young Master Ye, Young Master Ye!”

Ye Moxuan stopped a little impatiently. “Yes?”

“I just wanted to inform you that Young Lady Ye has been here for a couple of hours now, Young Master Ye. She had instructed me not to inform you of her arrival until after the meeting.”

At first, Ye Moxuan started frowning, but his eyebrows gradually smoothened out. As if mulling over something, he pressed the tip of his tongue against his teeth, and his eyes darkened considerably.

“I see. Tidy up the things here.” He then left the meeting room.

Xiao Su resignedly cleared up the documents; he could only blame himself for being Ye Moxuan’s assistant.

Ye Moxuan walked back to his office without stopping. Pushing open the doors, he found the place empty. Where’s Han Muzi? His eyes swept across the room and he noticed the door to the lounge was closed lightly.

He strode over. As he approached the door to the lounge, he deliberately silenced his footsteps. Pushing open the door to the lounge, he saw the figure of the person he was longing for.

Han Muzi lay on the bed in the lounge—her black hair messy from sleep and her bare face facing upward—with the blanket halfway over her.

Ye Moxuan watched her for a while. He quietly walked over, leaned down, and covered her properly with the blanket. After adjusting the blanket, he couldn’t bring himself to straighten his body; he intently studied the beautiful woman who was sleeping quietly. Recalling Xiao Su’s words previously, he reached out his hand and softly stroked her cheeks—his actions as gentle as could be.

“Silly woman, I don’t need you to worry about me. If you’ve arrived then just let me know. You’re so silly. Why would you lie here all alone for so long?” He knew that his words were simply a monologue. After all, she was asleep and would not be able to hear his words. However, her calm expression changed suddenly in the next moment; she looked pained and her delicate brows furrowed tightly.

Realizing that something was wrong, he took a closer look at her and noticed that her milky white forehead was beaded with cold sweat. What’s wrong? He decided to call out her name softly. “Muzi?”

She didn’t seem to hear him calling her; her breathing became short and rapid as if she was having a terrible nightmare.

Watching her like this, he felt overwhelmed with anxiety despite his manly facade; he wasn’t sure what to do, but he didn’t dare to wake her up abruptly. He could only continue to call out her name softly. He wasn’t sure how long he had been calling her name, but then Han Muzi’s eyes snapped open suddenly and she yelled in fright at the handsome face looming right in front of her face.

“Don’t be scared!” He hugged her tightly by her shoulders. “It’s me. It’s me.”

Han Muzi didn’t reply. The familiar low, hoarse voice in her ears seemed to comfort her. She remained frozen in shock for a long while, her mind still reeling from the terrifying scenes from before. Her heart was racing and her breathing was unstable. To make matters worse, her eyelids were twitching uncontrollably. She had an ominous feeling. Could it be due to Meng Xueyou’s curses from before?

“What’s wrong?” Seeing that she had calmed down, Ye Moxuan tenderly wiped away the beads of cold sweat on her forehead with his hand. Spotting the cold sweat on the tip of her nose as well, he lowered his head and covered it with his thin lips.

She came back to her senses and intentionally avoided his thin lips. It was bad enough that he would normally wipe away her tears. Now he wanted to lap up her cold sweat—it was just too much for her heart to take.

As she tried to avoid him, he simply held the back of her head with one hand and caught her soft cheeks with the other, not allowing her to escape by even an inch.

“Don’t—” she couldn’t move away and could only try to stop him with her words.

Ye Moxuan pretended not to have heard her. Licking up her sweat bit by bit, his black eyes gradually darkened. When he backed away a little and saw her self-loathing expression, he laughed softly. “Why are you avoiding me? I’m not disgusted by you.”

Han Muzi chewed on her lower lip. “I am disgusted by myself.”

“Did you have a nightmare?” he asked as he leaned over, touching his forehead against hers.

Speaking of the nightmare, she felt another sense of lingering fear; she nodded her head in response and hugged his slim waist. “It was a scary dream; I’m still… afraid of it. Let me lean on you,” she nuzzled her head against his chest and said gloomily.

He hugged her and murmured, “Sure, you can stay there as long as you’d like.” Lowering his head, he pressed his thin lips against her forehead. “What was the dream about? Will you tell me?”

The person in his arms shook her head without a sound, clearly unwilling to conjure up the dream again.

“If you don’t feel like talking, then don’t think about it anymore. You’ve slept through the whole morning; are you hungry? Why don’t I bring you out for lunch in a short while?”

Nestled in his arms, she still felt a little sleepy; her eyelids were twitching uncontrollably when she woke up just now, but now… it was a lot better.

“I’m still a little sleepy. I don’t feel like eating.” She suddenly became aware of how spoiled she was acting as she said that. Why did it feel like she was acting cute toward him? She was already an adult, not to mention a mother; how could she…

She felt awkward just thinking about it. How she wished she could just pretend that she hadn’t said anything.

“You can’t skip meals. What would you do if you got hungry? You need to eat your three meals on time. If you don’t feel like going out, why don’t we order in?” He took out his phone to order takeout as he spoke.

“What do you feel like eating?” Ye Moxuan opened the takeout website and placed the phone in front of Han Muzi.
