It’s too obvious. Han Muzi touched the mark, and just when she was about to apply some concealer over it, she realized with a start that she did not bring her handbag along. She had nothing but her phone with her.
“Where’s my bag?” “It’s most probably at home,” answered Ye Moxuan with a relaxed smile. She touched the love bite while processing the situation. Then, she glared sideways at him suddenly. “Did you do that on purpose?”
“You are my woman. Is there a problem for me to leave a mark on my woman?” Ye Moxuan’s voice became deeper. “With this, others will not covet you because you are Young Lady Ye now.”
Han Muzi retorted in exasperation, “I am not. I am not legally married to you, nor have I had a wedding with you.” Her words were like a huge blow to Ye Moxuan, and he kept quiet suddenly.
After his palpable silence, Han Muzi thought he might say something. However, he remained tight-lipped despite a long wait.
She felt slightly disappointed because she assumed that Ye Moxuan might say something along the lines of, I’m taking you to register our marriage, or that he might offer to hold a wedding or even propose to her.
However… there’s nothing in the end.
Am I overthinking? After all, we were married in the past.
Han Muzi sighed in her heart when she thought of that.
Forget it. I shouldn’t be too calculative. I am well aware of his feelings for me; how could I not? I suppose everything else is not important as long as the two of us are truly in love with each other.
I should be worried about the mark on my neck right now.
I’m sure someone else will notice it if I don’t try to conceal it.
What should I do?
After mulling over it for a long time, Han Muzi reached out to untie her ponytail. She let her hair down, and it draped over her shoulders, effectively blocking the pink love bite.
Ye Moxuan glanced at her. “Why are you concealing it?”
She ignored him and turned away to look out of the car window. He is the main culprit who caused so many problems for me.
She leaned against the window while staring outside, appearing like a sullen woman. Ye Moxuan couldn’t help but have a twinkle of a smile in his eyes.
“When are you… taking me to see our son?”
“Are you calling him your son even before meeting him? We aren’t even sure if he’d acknowledge you,” Han Muzi answered in a nasty tone.
Ye Moxuan frowned when he heard that.
That’s a problem too. After all, I have never met the child. I can’t be sure if he would be willing to acknowledge me as his daddy.
If he is willing to acknowledge me, everyone would be happy.
However… what if he is not willing to do that?
“He has to acknowledge me no matter what happens. After all, I am the only man in your life.”
Han Muzi was at a loss for words.
“I’ll have my ways to make him acknowledge me.”
Han Muzi answered him, “I-I haven’t figured things out. You need to wait slightly longer.”。
She was still feeling anxious, and she was especially nervous since she returned to China. Han Muzi was filled with anticipation and excitement, but she was scared at the same time.
Should I prepare some sort of rite if I were to get both father and son to meet, or should I hold something in conjunction with the occasion?
After considering her options, none of them felt right.
Han Muzi massaged her brows and felt a headache developing.
I suppose it’s best to discuss with Yan if we have the time once I get back to the company later.
Han Muzi relaxed significantly after deciding on that. She felt as if a huge burden was lifted from her chest.
After lunch, Ye Moxuan dropped her off at the entrance of the company building. Before she got out of the car, he reminded her, “Remember to update me once you’ve made up your mind. However… don’t make me wait too long. I can wait for a maximum of another three days.”
Han Muzi replied after a moment of hesitation, “I understand. Don’t worry.”
After that, she left briskly without having the courage to meet Ye Moxuan’s scorching gaze.
After entering the elevator, the feeling of his intense stare finally vanished, then Han Muzi let out a sigh of relief. Despite being with him and the fact that they had done everything, Ye Moxuan’s intense and lustful gaze still made her uncomfortable.
How would I describe it? It feels as if he were ready to eat me alive.
She fanned herself with her hand, trying to dissipate the heat.
Han Muzi felt rather guilty for not being in the company for the past few days. Fortunately, she did not bump into anyone when she was riding the elevator. She saw Yan, who was extremely busy, once she entered the office.
“Pardon? Pardon me? I am not clear with your description. Can you please repeat that? Miss Xia, why don’t you drop by our company for a face-to-face discussion this afternoon? Don’t worry; we will give you a quotation for the style and the material price range of your choice!”
“Yes, of course. That’s not a problem at all.”
“Sure. Thank you so much for your understanding. I’m hanging up now. Goodbye!”
After Yan ended the phone call, she answered the next one straight away. Han Muzi was amused while she observed Yan frantically juggling her tasks. Hence, she continued observing her at the office door with her hands crossed in front of her chest.
When Yan was finally done with her work, she started pacing the office. She looked toward the office door when she noticed a shadow in that direction.
However, it was a quick glance before she looked away again. Nevertheless, she did a double take swiftly.
“Muzi?”
Han Muzi smiled faintly while nodding at her.
“Damn it! Are you trying to scare me to death? Why are you standing there without making a sound? When did you come back?!”
Han Muzi answered with a smile, “I’ve been standing here for a while, but I couldn’t bring myself to disturb you because you seemed to be obsessed with work.”
Yan answered incredulously, “Damn it! Since when was I obsessed with work? In case you can’t tell, I am so busy that I don’t have any free time. It’s great to be you; you’re not even trying to help when you’re here. I can’t believe you were just standing there looking at me work this whole time.”
“Fine.” Han Muzi walked toward Yan with a smile and tried comforting Yan. “I was just afraid I might distract you from work. That was why I kept quiet. How has it been for the past two days?”
“There’s been more and more clients coming over to sign on with our company. It’s most probably thanks to the exposure we had at the banquet previously. Besides, our existing clients recommended new ones to us as well. I think… if this goes on, you will have to hire an assistant because I’m barely hanging in there.”
Han Muzi pursed her lips while weighing her options. Then, she suggested straight away, “Why don’t you get yourself an assistant who can help you?”
“What do you mean?” Yan blinked several times while facing Han Muzi. “Are you planning to elope with President Ye and abandon me and the company?”
Han Muzi reached out and flicked Yan’s forehead when she heard that.
“What is going on in your mind? Wouldn’t it be easier on you when you handle things if you hire an assistant?”
“That’s how it works, technically. However, I am your assistant; would it make sense for me to hire an assistant of my own?”
Han Muzi smiled faintly. “In that case, why don’t I give you a promotion? Our company is now up and running well. Would you like a position in management?”
Yan’s expression changed slightly upon hearing that. “A position in management? I-I haven’t even had the time—“
“You’ve helped me throughout the years, and I trust your capabilities. In the future, you shall be the Vice President of the company. Apart from myself, you have the right to intervene in all company matters. But once you’re in a managerial position, you shouldn’t abandon your efforts in pursuing Qing.”
