Xiao Su realized the atmosphere was not right and quickly spoke before Ye Moxuan burst with fury. “I’m sorry, doctor. The air in the quiet ward was full with the smell of antiseptics. Shen Qi was changed into a clean hospital gown. She lay quietly on the hospital bed, her ghostly pale face making her look terribly sick.
Ye Moxuan was sitting on his wheelchair by the bed. Staring at her sleeping figure, his frosty eyes deiced a little.
“When is she going to wake up?” Ye Moxuan asked suddenly.
“I’ve asked the doctor about it just now; he said probably tonight.”
Ye Moxuan moved his eyes away. “Let’s go back.”
Listening to that, Xiao Su was a little surprised. “Young Master Ye, aren’t we going to accompany Assistant Shen here?”
“Ask Madam Chen to come over.”
Xiao Su only just came to his senses and nodded his head. “Then I’ll ask Madam Chen to cook something and bring over a lunchbox. Assistant Shen can have a meal once she wakes up.”
As night fell, the whole hospital turned silent. All the patients had fallen asleep, and their accompanying family members were all quiet. Shen Qi gradually opened her eyelids. Everything in front of her was white, and there was a gentle woman sitting beside her bed.
“Second Young Lady, you’re awake!”
Listening to the woman address herself as the second young lady, Shen Qi’s mind went blank for a moment before she realized that the woman was a servant from the Ye Family. Slightly moving her fingers, Shen Qi tried to get up from the bed. But as soon as she moved, she could feel a throbbing pain pierce through her stomach so she could only lay back on the bed.
Madam Chen quickly got up. “Second Young Lady, please don’t get up yet. You’re still very weak and you should get more rest. Are you thirsty? I’ll get you a glass of water.”
Before Shen Qi could answer her, Madam Chen had turned over to pour a glass of warm water before handing it to Shen Qi thoughtfully while Shen Qi could only lay on the bed with an awkward smile. Madam Chen put down the glass gently and helped Shen Qi sit up. She even put a pillow on Shen Qi’s back.
“How do you feel?” After Shen Qi drank half of the water in the glass, Madam Chen asked carefully, “Second Young Lady, is everything alright? Do you need my help to call the doctor?”
Shen Qi shook her head and said with a low voice. “Thank you. You don’t have to call the doctor. I’m fine.”
It was just that she still felt a little pain in her stomach. She subconsciously reached out to touch her stomach and rubbed it gently.
“Second Young Lady, I’ve made dinner for you. In consideration of your condition, the food I’ve made is quite light on the palate. Please have a try.”
Madam Chen opened the thermos and poured the food out.

“Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear what I said?” Ye Moxuan lifted his brows and scolded, barely suppressing his anger.
“Huh? But Young Master Ye! I thought we’re here to visit her, aren’t we?” Xiao Su was speechless. They had just reached the door of her ward. It’s the perfect time to visit her since she has already woken up! Why are we leaving now?
Xiao Su couldn’t understand what Ye Moxuan was thinking. But after expressing his thoughts, he realized that the temperature around Ye Moxuan was decreasing rapidly. Noticing that he might have said something wrong, Xiao Su could only purse his lips and say, “Okay, we’ll go back then.”
Then, he began to push Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair and moved to leave the ward. Just then, the door of the ward was opened. It was Madam Chen who came out and ran into them. “Second Young Master, you’re here!”
Her voice was not too loud but it was not soft either. Shen Qi could clearly hear what she said.
When she heard that Ye Moxuan was here, she felt her heart clench. He was the one who sent me to the hospital, right?
“Second Young Master, the second young lady has woken up. Do you want to go in and have a look at her?”
Ye Moxuan remained silent.
Holding the bowl of porridge in her hands, Shen Qi paused. Ye Moxuan still hasn’t come into the ward even after Madam Chen has greeted him. Perhaps he doesn’t want to see me. Shen Qi decreased the speed at which she was eating her porridge at and subconsciously shifted her gaze to the door.
Just then, she could hear Ye Moxuan’s emotionless voice. “No need.”
Her hands, which were holding the bowl, froze mid-air. Shen Qi lowered her head and looked down dejectedly.
“Let’s go!”
Xiao Su followed Ye Moxuan’s order and pushed him to go out, leaving Madam Chen dumbfounded in front of the ward. Madam Chen was puzzled. I thought the second young master came to the hospital to visit the second young lady. But why didn’t he go into the ward after he arrived at the door? I’m pretty sure the second young lady heard my voice when I greeted him, yet he insists on leaving just like that… Could it be that they are having a fight? Madam Chen thought and returned to the ward after retrieving some water.

“Has he left?” Shen Qi interrupted her and asked softly.
Somehow, Madam Chen felt sorry to see Shen Qi, who hung her head. She then tried to explain, “The second young master probably has something important to settle so he has to leave suddenly. But I can see that he is very worried about you.”
