”You can try and see if I dare to do so?” Ye Moxuan became furious. His eyes smouldered with anger as he pinched hard on her chin. “Do you think after you are pregnant, I will allow you the chance to abort it?”
“Why? Why is it? Back then you wished to drive me away from you and now you keep me chained next to you. You don’t even treat me as a person. Am I just a pet to you? The type that comes bounding when called?”
At the mention of the past, Ye Moxuan’s eyes darkened.
“Then what about you? I invited you to the banquet. Why didn’t you attend?”
Why didn’t she attend the banquet?
She recalled the accident. Back then if Ye Linhan wasn’t there to protect her, she probably wouldn’t even have had the chance to reach the banquet on time. But alas, even when she reached the venue, she couldn’t locate Ye Moxuan.

”How did you know that I didn’t go to the party?”
Her eyes were now red; the pale pinkish hue of the corner of her eyes now matched the color on her face.
”Did you go to the banquet?”
Black eyes stared intently at her, as if trying to ascertain the truth from her face.
Did she really go to the banquet that night? This answer seemed to be quite important to him.
Han Muzi turned away, not wishing to answer his question. To her, as things currently stood, whether she went or not wasn’t as important anymore.
“ANSWER ME!” Seeing that she avoided the issue, he increased his grip on her and forced her to turn and face him.
Dejected eyes met one another as they turned to meet face to face.
”Tell me. Were you at the party that day?”
“Was it important?” Han Muzi replied sarcastically. “What? Would it move your heart to forgive me if I said I did go? Or would you punish me ever so harshly if I say I didn’t?”
Without waiting for his reply, she said, “This matter is not important anymore. Whether I was there or not, you weren’t there to see me.”
What was important was her effort in going to Seabay Villa to look for him yet she was shut out by him.
From her words, Ye Moxuan came to realise the truth. She did go to the banquet that night; only that she arrived when he had already departed. Otherwise, how could she have reached Seabay Villa right behind him?
It was a pity that she didn’t know what day it was. That banquet was very important to him. If she had been unable to attend the banquet in the first place due to other commitments, he would still find a reason to forgive her. But he received information that she was with his elder brother.

He had the cooks whip up a special type of porridge. The ingredients were all nutritious and the smell was very appetising.
