Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 594

“Are you heading home now? I can give you a ride.” After Ye Linhan paid for the bill, he took out his car key from his pocket as he exited the shop with her.

Han Muzi shook her head. “It’s okay, I am not heading home right away because I have other things to do.”

“Like what? I can drive you there. I mean, since today is the weekend and I have nothing to do.”

She furrowed her brows. “It’s really alright.”

Ye Linhan smiled at her. “Looking at the way you’re refusing me, I’m guessing it is because you have not forgiven me?”

He was giving her a hard time. Han Muzi replied, feeling helpless, “Vice President Ye, what you’re saying puts me in a tough spot. It’s just that I have errands to run and I honestly don’t want to trouble you. It’s not because of other matters.”

“Vice President Ye?” Ye Linhan was slightly irritated. “It seems like you only see me as a business partner.”

Han Muzi was speechless.

“It’s alright. After all, there are still plenty of chances for us to meet up. I really hope that you can forgive me. If you don’t want me to send you today, I will not force you at all.” With that, Ye Linhan patted her on the shoulder with a smile and said, “Be careful on the road then. Call me if there’s anything.”

After the two of them exchanged goodbyes, Han Muzi flagged down a cab and headed in the direction of the neighborhood supermarket. She checked her phone before she entered the supermarket and was relieved to see that there were no messages from Ye Moxuan. Maybe he was extremely exhausted, so he was still asleep at this time.

As she picked out the ingredients at the supermarket, she thought about everything that Ye Moxuan had done for her which was why everything that she selected suited his palate. She couldn’t help but smile as a result of thinking about him. Well, forget it, let’s consider it as a treat for him since he has been working so hard lately.

After Han Muzi paid the bill, she left the supermarket with her bag of groceries. She then strolled back to her apartment and entered the elevator before she took out her phone and sent Ye Moxuan a text. ‘Are you awake?’

There was no signal at all in the elevator. Her message would only be sent out automatically once she exited the elevator. As such, Han Muzi tucked away her phone into her pocket after sending the text.

She then glanced at the floor panel display as the elevator approached her floor. As the door opened, she took a deep breath and stepped out of the elevator with her bag of groceries. The moment she stepped out from the elevator, she heard a notification from WeChat.

Hmm? She wondered. Just as and when she was about to remove her phone from her pocket to see if it was Ye Moxuan’s reply, she noticed a slender figure from the corner of her eyes. Han Muzi stopped in her tracks and glanced toward the person’s direction.

His arms were crossed as he leaned against the wall. He held his phone in one hand and on the screen was a WeChat interface showing her text messages. As he held the phone and stood there, he glared at her with his face as dark as charcoal.

Han Muzi looked at him for about three seconds before her lips moved. “Y-You’re awake?”

Ye Moxuan did not reply to her at all. His lips were still pressed against each other and his gaze was so cold that it would freeze many ponds.

Now that you’re awake, why don’t you have some lunch as well? I just bought some groceries,” Han Muzi guiltily replied, turning around to key in the password to her house.

When she turned around again, Ye Moxuan did not move an inch. “Are you coming?” she asked.

It took Ye Moxuan about three seconds before he finally stepped forward. His face was still stone cold and he was not happy.

Han Muzi closed the door with a frown after he entered the house. She could tell that something was off with him. Ye Moxuan definitely did not have a friendly expression to him. Could it be because she went out without informing him? She turned around to look at him, but he already had his back against her.

“About earlier, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to go out without informing you. It’s just that you’ve been accompanying me lately until you’re exhausted. I thought that you might have wanted to sleep in, so I went out alone.” Han Muzi was afraid that he might still be worried, so she swung the bag of groceries in front of him. “I only went out for a while and returned home in one piece. You really don’t have to worry about me.”

Ye Moxuan stood there as he continued to ignore her. As such, she was frightened by his aura. She continued to speak, but he didn’t respond at all. Han Muzi thought that it was a bit strange. Is he annoyed just because I went out on my own?

As she thought about it, she wrinkled her nose as she looked at him from behind and asked carefully, “Are you okay?”

Her words seemed to have touched Ye Moxuan’s nerve. He suddenly turned around and gave her a long, hard glare. His gaze was so horrifying that it felt like he was about to eat her alive.

Taken aback, Han Muzi gasped and retreated two steps back. She was truly frightened by what she saw and her face became pale.

Ye Moxuan became more terrifying the moment she reacted. He gradually stepped forward and it was evident from his movement that he brewed with anger; it was a scene that anyone would want to escape from.

As a result, Han Muzi took a few shaky steps back while holding on to the bag of groceries. “What’s going on with you?” she asked in a trembling voice.

Because they had just entered the house, there was nowhere else that she could hide from him. Her back bumped into the cold door with a thud.

Han Muzi stole a glance at her back to see what she had knocked into. Ye Moxuan was already right in front of her the moment she turned around.

Her brows were furrowed. “This is all because I didn’t tell you that I went out? I’ve already explained to you that it wasn’t on purpose. I only wanted you to have more rest, which was why…”

She suddenly stopped explaining to him. No, this is wrong! She was able to observe that Ye Moxuan’s emotions and expressions were all not like his usual self.

His gaze was as ferocious as a beast’s stare and it felt like he wanted to tear her apart, as if she had done something terribly wrong to him. But… she had only gone to get some groceries. Why would he give her such a stare?

Han Muzi swallowed nervously and thought to herself, Did he find out the true reason why I went out?

But she didn’t receive his text on her way back, which meant that he should still have been asleep at that time. She stretched her arm and cautiously tapped him at the chest. She pleaded with a soft voice, “I-I am going to make lunch. About other things—ahh!”

Before she could finish her sentence, Ye Moxuan had fiercely grabbed her wrist. The force was so powerful that it almost broke her wrist, causing her to scream in pain. “What are you doing? Let me go!”

Even though she implored, he refused to let her go and increased the grip on her wrist instead.

“It’s painful!” Han Muzi yelled, trying to free herself.

Ye Moxuan stepped forward, pressing her against the door. His voice dripped with ice as he spoke, “So, you know what pain is?”

Han Muzi frowned in agony. “Nonsense. How would I…”

“Ha.” Ye Moxuan sneered. “I thought you were a merciless, heartless woman. How would you know what pain is?”
