“W-Why is he here too?” “Who?” Mrs. Lin asked since she wasn’t sure who she was referring to.
However, Lin Qingqing clung onto Mrs. Lin and buried her face against her chest. “Mother, I don’t want to see him right now. I look so embarrassing and ugly. How can I let him see me in this state? He doesn’t even like me to begin with. He must be even more disappointed to see me in this state.”
Her voice was very soft, and so only Mrs. Lin could hear her. Lin Qingqing was her daughter after all, and so how could she not understand her wishes? Lin Qingqing was referring to Ye Moxuan.
Lin Qingqing had lost weight over the past two days, and she had no make-up on since she had been in jail all along. Hence, she thought that her image was ruined in front of the man of her dreams, since Ye Moxuan showed up suddenly.
If it were in the past, Mrs. Lin would have helped Lin Qingqing through this.
However, at that point, Lin Qingqing’s reputation and life was much more important in comparison to keeping up a façade. Hence, Mrs. Lin couldn’t be bothered with her; instead, she pulled Lin Qingqing’s arm while whispering to her, “My dear child, ignore him. I’m here to save you. You made a mistake in the past, so today, you have to apologize to her. Admit sincerely that it was your fault, and that you will never repeat your mistake. Do you understand me?”
Lin Qingqing’s body quivered against Mrs. Lin’s arms upon hearing that. Then, she looked up at Mrs. Lin while asking her in a hushed tone, “Mother, what are you saying?”
“Apologize properly, alright?” Mrs. Lin stared at her while warning her softly. “It took a lot of effort from my part to beg for this opportunity. You might lose this chance if you don’t apologize properly right now.”
“You begged for this opportunity? Did you beg that woman?” Lin Qingqing sounded agitated, and her eyes burned with anger and hatred. Her sudden change of emotions alarmed Mrs. Lin, and so Mrs. Lin gritted her teeth while she squeezed Lin Qingqing’s wrists while whispering to her, “You had better listen to me, Lin Qingqing. You have to apologize to them sincerely, repent and turn from your sins. You are not to show any emotions in your eyes because you were at fault in the entire incident!”
My fault?
What did I do? I don’t think I did anything wrong. The only thing I did wrong was not to have aimed the sulfuric acid accurately at Han Muzi’s face. That is why sheis still standing and looking fine right there.
“I will not apologize.” Lin Qingqing’s gaze was vicious. “This was not my fault. She was the one who started it by snatching away my man!”
“You silly child! What nonsense are you spouting?” Mrs. Lin’s eyes bulged in shock. She had a bad feeling about this because her daughter had always been arrogant and unyielding. At that moment, Lin Qingqing was still unwilling to apologize. “Do you know that if you don’t apologize today, you might end up in prison for a very long time?” Mrs. Lin asked.

Lin Qingqing started trembling in fear at the mention of the possibility of being incarcerated in such a place.
However, why would I apologize to the woman who snatched my man away? How could I do that?
“It’s your choice. You either go out and apologize, or you stay here without apologizing. I trust you know what the right choice is.”
With that, Mrs. Lin let go of Lin Qingqing since she wanted her to decide for herself.
Once Mrs. Lin stood up, she glanced at Han Muzi with a smile before speaking in a soft tone, “I’ve spoken with her. She’s suffered quite a bit in here for the past few days. She knows that she’s at fault, and she’s reflected upon that.”
Han Muzi glanced at Mrs. Lin and thought that as a mother, Mrs. Lin was trying so hard to smooth things over for the sake of her daughter.
Han Muzi respected Mrs. Lin for her motherly love. Hence, she nodded in acknowledgement with a faint smile.
Mrs. Lin suddenly felt slightly better after seeing Han Muzi’s reaction. She will forgive my daughter, I suppose. As long as she forgives Qingqing, things will be easier to handle.
However, Lin Qingqing continued sitting on the floor, and she refused to stand up. She didn’t want Ye Moxuan to see her in such an embarrassing state because she knew she looked ugly.
Despite not looking into a mirror for the past few days, I can easily imagine how ugly I am right now. I haven’t showered for several days, and my hair must be a mess. Besides, the make-up I had on several days ago must have smeared by now.

Lin Qingqing looked as though she had lost her mind all of a sudden. Meanwhile, Han Muzi had no idea what was going on. Nevertheless, she was here to see if Lin Qingqing had repent her sins, so she stood by the side with a calm expression.
Suddenly, Lin Qingqing looked as if she thought of something because she looked up abruptly and shot Han Muzi a steely glare.
Her gaze was filled with anger and hatred.
Everyone was shocked, whereas Song An stared at Lin Qingqing in disbelief.
It was almost impossible to imagine how such a young woman could muster such a venomous stare.
Mrs. Lin’s heart sank, and she blocked in front of Lin Qingqing straight away. “What are you doing? Shouldn’t you be apologizing to Miss Han and Mr. Ye right now?”
“I won’t apologize! Why should I apologize?” Lin Qingqing screamed at the top of her voice. “Mother, I thought you were here to help me. Why are you forcing me to apologize to her? What have I done wrong?”
Mrs. Lin inhaled sharply, and the color drained instantly from her face. Her body stiffened, and she stood rooted to the spot.
Initially, Han Muzi had a neutral expression, but upon hearing Lin Qingqing’s screams, her eyes darkened slightly. After that, she looked at Mrs. Lin, who was still standing at the side.
What a shame. She has wasted all her efforts.
“She was at fault!” Lin Qingqing pointed at Han Muzi and hissed through gritted teeth. “I was the one who went on a bind date with Ye Moxuan first! She is just a fashion designer! Why did she snatch my arranged date from right under my nose? What does she have on me? How is she better than me?? Is it just because she is better than me at seducing men?”

Mrs. Lin lost her temper, and she charged toward Lin Qinqing before slapping her hard across her face.
“What nonsense are you spouting? You had better apologize right now! What are our Lin family’s principles? I have taught you so much throughout the years; is this what you’ve learned? He simply doesn’t fancy you! In that case, how could you say she’d snatched him away? Quick, you had better apologize to them right now. I will give up on your case if you do not apologize today!”

Her gaze looked venomous, and it was so resentful that even Ye Moxuan couldn’t bear it. He scowled deeply, and his aura became icy cold. He was about to reach out to pull Han Muzi behind himself, but she took a step forward swiftly. She now stood still not too far away from Lin Qingqing.
She gazed at Lin Qingqing calmly, and her still expression was a stark contrast compared to that of Lin Qingqing’s.
“I won’t explain because I don’t think that’s necessary. But if you still think that I snatched your man away, I’ll tell you the truth.”
