Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 420

It was almost time to get off work by the time Han Muzi got back to the office.

She had spent too much time outside and not to mention that she didn’t have her car after work, so she was planning to take public transport back with Yan.

Yan’s eyes widened when she heard that she rear-ended a car. “Rear-end? How did you do that?”

Han Muzi was having a headache. “My driving skills are probably a little rusty.” She smiled.

“Rusty? Do you think I don’t know you? You are always such a careful driver; there must have been something bothering you.”

Han Muzi froze a little. She had to admit that Yan knew her well. After five years of friendship, they understood each other’s habits and capabilities.

Han Muzi couldn’t refute this and merely smiled.

“Tell me the truth. Did that b*stard Ye Moxuan do something to you?”

As Yan mentioned Ye Moxuan, Han Muzi thought of the words he said to her in the afternoon. He said he was married, but he did those strange acts and even…

“No.” As she thought of this, she instantly denied it.

“No? Then why did you get into an accident?”

“At that time… I was thinking about some designs. Lin Xinghuo’s press conference is in a few days, right?” Han Muzi quickly changed the topic. The naive Yan instantly had sparkling eyes at the mention of Lin Xinghuo’s press conference. “Yes. The dress is almost ready. We will receive the dress and take it to Lin Xinghuo by then. Muzi, this will be our first product after establishing our company!”

“Yes, the first design will be very sentimental. Remember to change the designer’s name to Leng Yueyue, and take a photo for her to keep.”

“Although it’s her design, you guided her. Besides, she is working for us now. We can credit the design to her, but we need to add a little foreword,” Yan said after hearing Han Muzi’s words.

“Why do you care so much?” Han Muzi smiled helplessly.

Pfft, I’m not making a fuss about it. It’s obviously for our company’s sake!”

“Okay, let’s discuss with Leng Yueyue then.”

“Sure.”

They got on the bus as they chatted.

Han Muzi hadn’t taken the public bus for a long time. She felt it was difficult for her to take the bus because she was always in high heels, especially during rush hour.

When both of them got back to the Han residence, they were a mess. They looked at each other and smiled.

It was the weekend the next day and Han Muzi had slept in. The weather was perfect and she was free, so she planned to take Little Bean to take a look at the school she saw the other day. If Little Bean liked it too, she would let him get used to the environment there for a week.

“Mommy! Mommy, are we going to school today?” Little Bean couldn’t help but ask when Han Muzi was helping him with his clothes. “Yes.”

“Are you going to leave me at school?” With that, Little Bean hugged Han Muzi’s arms pitifully and looked sad.

Han Muzi was stunned for a moment and soon laughed. “Why would I? I’m just bringing you to see if you like the school. If you like it, you can study there for a week and try to get used to it, yeah?”

Little Bean didn’t want to go. Hadn’t I learned everything I needed to know in kindergarten? He felt he didn’t need to go to school.

But it was his little secret and Han Muzi didn’t know about it. From the way he hugged her arms, she thought he just didn’t want to leave her. She held his hands and walked out as she persuaded, “Don’t overthink. The school is close to my office; when I get off work, I can come pick you up and then we can come home together.”

“Wow, that’s great then!”

Yan was restless, so when she heard that the two of them were going to visit the school, she decided to tag along. Han Qing was free as well and so the four of them went together.

Han Qing drove and the three of them sat at the back. Two adults and a child.

Yan felt as if she was sitting on pins and needles. After all, she still couldn’t get over what happened before. She wasn’t sure if Han Qing still remembered; he might have forgotten but she couldn’t forgive herself for her stupid behavior. How embarrassing!

Realizing that she was too quiet, Han Muzi couldn’t help but tease, “Why are you not talking?”

Yan was speechless. She then glared at Han Muzi. You know that I’m embarrassed and yet you still brought this up?

Han Muzi tried to hold back her laugh. She was just asking casually, but Little Bean asked, “Aunt Yan, why are you so afraid of my uncle?”

Yan’s expression froze. Are both mother and son trying to kill me? Why can’t they just treat me like I’m invisible— like I don’t exist?

“Afraid of me?” Han Qing was cued by Little Bean and looked at Yan through the rearview mirror.

Realizing that he was looking at her, Yan’s heart shook, and she sat up straight instantly while squeezing out an awkward smile. “It’s nothing like that!” Yan tried to explain herself as the corner of her lips twitched. “I just didn’t sleep well last night. Hahaha…”

After that fake laugh, Yan secretly poked Little Bean’s butt and squeezed the words out between her teeth. “You rascal, are you trying to kill me?”

“Aunt Yan, why are you poking my butt?” Little Bean’s eyes widened, looking innocent.

Yan was beyond words.

Han Qing couldn’t help but look back through the rearview mirror again.

In the end, Yan gave Han Muzi a look asking for help, but Han Muzi just smiled and looked away naturally, pretending she didn’t see anything. Although Little Bean was just a child, he was smart and was trying to pull Yan and Han Qing closer. If Yan became my sister-in-law, that seems… pretty good?

“Did I? You must be mistaken. It was Muzi.” In the end, Yan just pushed the blame to Han Muzi.

Han Muzi froze and tried to hold back her laugh. “Oh, it was? Fine, It’s me then.”

Yan’s face changed as she heard that. That was even more awkward than if Han Muzi denied it. If she denied it, she could at least continue the banter. But now that Han Muzi just admitted to it with a helpless tone, it sounded like she was forced to do so.

Han Qing, who was in front, stopped speaking and didn’t look back as well. As Yan felt relieved, she felt a little disappointed at the same time. A man that has been single for so many years is just like a paper tree; it is impossible for it to bloom. Sigh, the man can only be my dream, and never my reality.

However, Han Qing was still single, and Yan couldn’t give that thought up.
