After Yan had scolded them, she turned around and ran out swiftly. Judging by their words, Shen Qi most probably had a fall out with Ye Moxuan and ended up like this. She had to be extremely upset right now, and that was most likely the reason why she had forgotten the fact that she was waiting for her in the Finance Department. She had to find Shen Qi as soon as possible, otherwise it would be dangerous for the latter to walk around like this.
“What’s wrong with Yan? There are so many people in our department, so why did she have to be friends with that woman? Moreover, she even stood up for her.”
“Tsk! I bet that she wants to cosy up to her since Shen Qi is close to President Ye. After all, she always wanted to climb up the ladder. Hence, it is not difficult to guess that she wants to curry favors with the rich and powerful in hopes of advancing up the ladder.”
Yan couldn’t care less about what they had to say as she rushed into the elevator and pushed the button to the first floor. Following that, she waited anxiously for the elevator to arrive. Once the elevator stopped, she rushed out quickly to find Shen Qi. Yan searched everywhere, but she could not find Shen Qi downstairs anymore. Hence, she could only ask the security guard.
The security guard recognized Shen Qi. After all, she was the topic of discussion amongst the people in the company. “Oh, you mean her? She headed that way just now… I don’t know what happened, but she was acting strangely.” The security guard pointed toward the alley opposite the road. “I noticed that she did not look out for cars when she crossed the road. Fortunately, nothing happened to her. Then, she entered that alley. You should head there quickly too. I hope nothing happens to her.”
“Thank you.” Yan quickly left and crossed the road into the alley. There weren’t many forks in the alley, but the road was windy. Eventually, she found Shen Qi because she was fast.
In reality, Shen Qi got tired after walking for a while. As such, she simply found a place to sit down at random. Moreover, she did not care whether the surrounding was dirty or not. By the time Yan found her, she was sitting on the ice cold floor.
Yan panted out of tiredness as she slowly walked toward Shen Qi. “I finally found you! Qi, you really gave me quite a fright back there. Why are you sitting here? Get up quickly and follow me back home.”
Shen Qi did not move a muscle at all. At the moment, her gaze was lowered, and she looked unusually quiet.
Upon seeing this, Yan sighed and crouched down in front of her. “Don’t be sad. Why don’t you follow me back first? We can talk about what happened later, alright?”
Shen Qi lifted her head as she stared at her with a pair of bloodshot eyes.
Since Yan was a woman as well, she felt sorry for Shen Qi when she saw the state she was in. She did not know what was wrong with Ye Moxuan. How could he have a fall out with her in that kind of situation?
Yan did not probe further as she held her hand and said, “You should get up first. I will bring you back home.”
Shen Qi did not move a muscle and merely looked at her quietly. Her eyes were red, just like that of a rabbit. Although her eyes were filled with tears, she did not cry at all. After a moment, Yan heard her speaking in a soft voice, “Yan, I’m afraid that I have disappointed you.”
Yan felt a pang of pain in her heart. “Qi, you…”
“I broke up with him.”
Shen Qi smiled faintly as tears finally fell from the corner of her eyes. “This time, he really doesn’t want me anymore.”
Yan instantly felt upset to the point where she could not bring herself to speak. She knew that any form of consolation was useless at the moment. Shen Qi would only feel more upset the more she tried to comfort her. “Let’s put this matter aside for now. You should follow me back home first.”
She wanted to pull Shen Qi up from the ground, but the latter refused. As such, Yan started having a splitting headache right now. “Why don’t you follow me back first? We can discuss this when we get home. There is definitely another way around it.”
“No. There is no way around it anymore, for he will never look back. Moreover, I had already used up all my courage.” Shen Qi lowered her eyes as she hugged her knees to herself and buried her head in between. “I don’t want to take the initiative to find him anymore. I don’t want to…”
“Okay. Let’s not find him anymore. Let’s find a guy that is a hundred times better than him. Look at Ye Linhan, he is nice to you…”
Ye Linhan! Speaking of him, Yan suddenly had an idea. That’s right! This is the perfect time to ask him for help.
Otherwise, she was afraid that she could not deal with her at the moment, judging by the way Shen Qi was acting. After all, her eyes were filled with despair which would shock just about anyone.

Shen Qi, who was crouching on the floor just now, had vanished without a trace.

Mom, you have to ask my sister to pay my tuition fees for me, otherwise… we will expose her identity.”
Mrs. Shen had a lightbulb moment. “You mean…”

Shen Yue stood up and went to open the door. However, she was stunned the moment she noticed the people standing outside. “W-Who are you guys?”
There were several men in suits and leather shoes standing outside. They had a stern look on their face as they surrounded the two sides of the door. Amongst them, there was a man with an extraordinary presence and a pair of deep, unfathomable eyes. In that instant, his gaze fell upon her face. “Nice to meet you. May I know whether this is the Shen Family?”
Before Shen Yue could react, she heard her mother walking toward them as she asked loudly, “Who is it, Yue?”
