Shen Qi did not expect that, so she dodged to the side reflexively to avoid Shi Qinbao.
Despite being heavily pregnant, Shi Qinbao was quite nimble. She grabbed Shen Qi’s arm, and her long, sharp nails dug directly into her fair arm. Shi Qinbao snarled at Shen Qi. “You wench! I will not let you go so easily today. You have to come with me and clear things up with Lin Jiang in person.”
Shen Qi frowned when her nails dug deep into her flesh, and she hissed through gritted teeth, “I will not go with you. I completely severed ties with Lin Jiang long ago, and even if you think otherwise, Lin Jiang is merely putting on an act!”
“Damn it! Do you think that I would believe you? Shen Qi, you are a shameless woman, and no one from the Shen family is worth any respect!”
Shi Qinbao looked cruel and evil at that moment. However, she was heavily pregnant, so no one dared to stop her; hence, she took the advantage and started scratching and pinching Shen Qi’s arm. Everyone could clearly see that Shi Qinbao’s nails dug so deeply into Shen Qi’s flesh that they were about to draw blood.
However, Shen Qi did not fight back because Shi Qinbao was a pregnant woman.
The security from Ye Group were in a similar situation. Despite causing a ruckus in the company, they couldn’t do anything to her because she was pregnant.
It was a common fact from ancient times that everyone was wary of pregnant women and elderlies causing trouble for fear that a fatal accident would happen.
Besides, in modern society, no one could possibly bear the consequences of having blood on their hands.
Hence, they were helpless despite the current situation; everyone had no choice but to suppress the urge to fight back.
“I will not hold back if you don’t let go this instant. If something were to happen to you, what else would you still have to control Lin Jiang?”
Shen Qi hit Shi Qinbao where it hurt. Although Shen Qi was in pain while facing Shi Qinbao’s attacks, she was extremely clear-headed. Her warning was like a slap to the face for Shi Qinbao, stunning her for a moment. Hence, Shen Qi grabbed the chance and yanked Shi Qinbao’s arm away.
However, Shi Qinbao was merely stunned for a second before she came to her senses. She approached Shen Qi once again and spat, “Dream on! Even if I lose this unborn child, I am still going to expose your true colors, you shameless woman!”
Shen Qi’s arm looked as though it was about to bleed under Shi Qinbao’s attacks, and that was when Yan lost her patience while observing from the sidelines. She dashed straight toward them to help Shen Qi.
“You shameless woman! You are bullying her by taking advantage of the fact that you are pregnant! Do you think that you can do as you please and bully us?” Yan had long fingernails, and although she couldn’t pry open Shi Qinbao’s fingers, she dug her nails into Shi Qinbao’s arm as well. Then, Yan slashed hard across Shi Qinbao’s arm.
“Argh!” Shi Qinbao wailed in pain, and she glared at Yan viciously. “You wench! I am a pregnant woman! How dare you do that to me?!”
“That’s right! You are bullying others just because you are pregnant, so why can’t we defend ourselves? Qi, she pinched your arm, so you should go ahead and pinch hers too! I am confident that we would not harm her unborn child even if we broke her arm! We will be fine as long as there are no deaths!”
Yan was much more ruthless than Shen Qi was.
“All right.”
Shi Qinbao finally realized what she was up against, so she screamed for help, “Aunties, if you don’t come over and help me, they would bully me to my death! Sob!”
The group of women, who stood rooted to the spot and watched everything unfold before them, finally came to their senses. They marched forward to join in the fight. A large group of women started fighting each other, and soon, Shen Qi and Yan were at a disadvantage because they were outnumbered.
Amidst the ongoing fight, the crowd heard a sharp scream.
It turned out that somehow, someone pushed Shi Qinbao, and she fell hard onto the ground. Coincidentally, her back knocked into an iron frame.
Bang!
The iron frame came crashing down on Shi Qinbao.
“Argh!” the onlookers screamed in horror while witnessing the terrifying scene before their eyes.
While the women were beating Shen Qi up, Yan did all she could to shield her from those horrible women. However, those burly women were strong and ferocious, and they continued raining fists, pinches, and scratches on Shen Qi. There were countless injuries across Shen Qi’s body by that point, but before she could respond, there was an ear-piercing scream, followed by a loud crashing sound.
Then, it was dead silent.
“Th-There’s blood!” someone bellowed, and soon, the crowd erupted. “She is going to die!”
The group of burly women, who were jointly beating Shen Qi and Yan up, finally retreated. Shen Qi could now see what was going on.
Shen Qi’s heart skipped a beat the moment she saw Shi Qinbao who was lying in a pool of blood. Before Shen Qi could react, Yan let out a scream while holding on to Shen Qi’s arm. “Qi, she is in real trouble. What should we do? I wasn’t the one who pushed her!”
Shen Qi felt suffocated, and the group of married women turned around to glare at her savagely. “It’s all your doing! The two of you are the reason why Qinbao is in trouble now! I am calling the cops right now!”
With that, she whipped her phone out and was about to dial 110. Shen Qi’s eyes flashed coldly before snatching her phone away. “She is badly hurt. Are you planning to call the cops and not 120 for the ambulance?”
With that, Shen Qi phoned the ambulance calmly, and she appeared cool and collected on the surface. However, her fingers were trembling when she was dialing 120.
The woman is lying in a pool of blood. There is so much blood, and the iron frame came crashing down on her just like that.
I’m afraid both the mother and child’s lives would be in danger.
I am not a saint, but everything happened because of me. Besides, Yan is now involved too, and I might have very well dragged her into this mess.
When she thought of that, Shen Qi turned around to speak to Yan in a quiet voice. “Yan, you should return to your department now.”
Yan immediately grabbed Shen Qi’s hand when she heard that. “What will you do if I return now?”
“She’s here for me. It has nothing to do with you, so you should go back to your department right now.”
Yan pondered for a while, but she was quick to process her thoughts. She grabbed Shen Qi’s arm tightly while taking a stand. “Are you planning to take all the blame once I leave? Qi, no! I, Yan, am not a disloyal and ruthless person!”
Shen Qi scowled at her and explained, “That’s not it. This has nothing to do with you. Quick! Leave now,” Shen Qi advised and pushed Yan away. However, at that moment, the group of burly women came forward and grabbed hold of the two of them. “Both of you were the ones who pushed her. If she dies, both of you have to take responsibility for that!”
“Qi!” They held on to both of Yan’s arms, so she started struggling to free herself while looking at Shen Qi.
Shen Qi was in trouble herself, and she didn’t have the time to entertain Yan.
After finding out that Shi Qinbao is hurt, those mad women, whom she brought along, did not come forward to check on her or help her; instead, they are busy trying to capture Yan and me. This is rather chilling.
“What happened?” a gentle voice spoke out of nowhere. Ye Linhan asked in a soft voice while looking at the crowd in front of him. He saw several women attacking Shen Qi the moment he finished asking, and his expression darkened instantly. He marched swiftly forward to rescue Shen Qi.
“Who are you? Who gave you permission to cause trouble in Ye Group? Where are the security?”
Ye Linhan was Ye Group’s Vice President after all; once he spoke up, the group of security guards, who were busy entertaining themselves by watching from the sidelines, came forward to seize those women. Without a troublesome pregnant woman, seizing the rest of them was a walk in the park.
