Yan scanned her surroundings before nodding in agreement. “I sensed that too, and they seem to be disgusted by you. Did you do something horrible again?”
Shen Qi was baffled. “What did I do?”
“In that case, let’s have our lunch first. I’ll ask around for you after our meal.”
Yan pulled Shen Qi to a seat at a corner, and they heard the conversation of the adjacent table the moment they took their seats.
“Why does she have the audacity to be here? She truly is shameless to show up here after being involved in such a scandal.”

Shen Qi scowled when she heard that.
“Why are you saying that about her? Do you truly think she is capable of feeling shame? She’s bedded both Young Master Ye and Vice President Ye. Just look at the way they stare at her; she must be really skillful in bed. She managed to get both men to transfer her work position. Unfortunately, she isn’t satisfied with the two men from Ye Group, and there she is, seducing a married man. I suppose only a shameless and lowly person could ever do such a shameless thing.”
After eating a spoonful of her rice, Yan put down her spoon after she heard them. “What nonsense are they spouting?”

A sharp woman’s voice rang loudly, followed by the loud clacking of a pair of high heels. Shen Qi looked toward the crowd and realized that the person was Qiang Wei, who had an argument with Shen Qi in the canteen previously.

Qiang Wei’s expression soured at the mention of the past incident, and her face distorted in anger. “How dare you mention what happened previously? Do you think that I am scared of you?”
“Why did you wait till today to cause a ruckus if you weren’t scared of me? Where have you been hiding all this while?” Shen Qi countered ruthlessly.
“You!” Qiang Wei gritted her teeth in anger. She raised her hand and was about to slap Shen Qi, but Yan was quick on her feet, and she reached out swiftly to block Qiang Wei’s hand. “Qiang Wei, what are you doing? Are you simply hitting people here?” Yan yelled at her angrily.
It was exceptionally crowded in the canteen today, and when coupled with the trouble stirred up by Qiang Wei, everyone in the canteen shifted focus to the three of them. They looked gleeful as if they were anticipating a showdown between the women.
“What’s it got to do with you if I hit someone? Didn’t you see how disrespectful she was to me? What is wrong if I were to hit her? Let go of me!” Qing Wei yelled while shoving Yan’s hand away. However, Yan blocked in front of Shen Qi with arms on her waist before shouting back at Qiang Wei, “Who was the one who was disrespectful? It was obviously you! She was minding her own business and having her meal; weren’t you the one who launched a scathing attack on her? Have we ever asked you over? Qi is basically ignoring you, but here you are, trying to pick a fight. You are truly disgusting!”
“You!”
Yan was extremely rude once she started scolding others. She was hot-tempered by nature; besides, she had no qualms about being blunt, and so she went all out with her snide remarks.
It was even more horrible when she started scolding others because everything sounded utterly unpleasant.
“What, now?” Qiang Wei folded her arms in front of her chest while jeering at the both of them. “How dare you claim that I am disrespectful? Why would I be disrespectful and stoop to the level of an easy woman like her? Besides, why can’t others gossip, since she has no problem carrying out her shameless acts?”
Swoosh—
Shen Qi, who was seated in silence all along, stood up abruptly. She approached Qiang Wei expressionlessly and stopped right in front of her while regarding her with an icy stare.
“I am curious about these shameless acts you were just referring to. What are those things that you, an outsider, are more informed that I, as the person involved, am?”
Yan backed Shen Qi up. “That’s right! We aren’t even aware about it, but here you are, claiming that you know all about us! Have we committed shameless acts, or were you guys the one making stories up as gossip fodder?!”
“You’ll know whether I’m making stories up once you see it for yourself downstairs! You shameless mistress!”
Downstairs?
Yan exchanged a look with Shen Qi, and they both looked confused.
“What happened downstairs? Qi, let’s have a look.”
Shen Qi wanted to nod at first, but she answered after pondering for a moment, “There is no rush. Let’s finish our meal before checking it out later.”
With that, Shen Qi sat down again before picking her chopsticks up and started slowly enjoying her meal. Yan, who was beside her, was stunned for quite some time before snapping back to her senses. “Qi?”
“Take your seat,” Shen Qi uttered. Her gaze and expression both exuded calm and tranquility at that moment.
Yan finally sat down and joined Shen Qi to finish her meal.
Now, Qiang Wei, who was standing nearby, looked utterly flabbergasted by the sudden turn of events. I told them something’s up downstairs, and here they are, enjoying their meal at snail-speed.
“You wench, you must be crazy, aren’t you?” Qiang Wei scolded.
