Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1564

Tang Yuanyuan seemed to have woken up from the noise. When she saw Meng Kefei standing by the door, she sat up in bed feeling slightly confused.

“Fei?”

She looked at Meng Kefei with a puzzled look after sitting up. “Why are you up so early?”

Upon hearing Tang Yuanyuan’s voice, Meng Kefei’s heart started beating even faster than it already was. She drew a deep breath in before turning back around.

“Yuanyuan, I couldn’t sleep so I got up to look at the time.”

At the mention of the time, Tang Yuanyuan also took a look then scrunched up her small face when she saw what time it was. “It’s so early. I want to sleep a bit more. Are you going to sleep too, Fei?”

What else could she do besides sleep? Meng Kefei agreed that she also needed more sleep and climbed back into bed. Tang Yuanyuan leaned her head back against her pillow and fell back asleep right away.

Not long after, she flipped over and hugged Little Sprout, who was beside her.

Little Sprout was also sleeping soundly. Her eyelashes fluttered briefly when she was hugged but she did not wake up.

The way the both of them looked so innocent made Meng Kefei feel like a clown. They were living such good lives, while she did not have anything. What right did she have to be friends with them?

She used to put herself down in the past, but it was different this time. The seed had finally sprouted.

I’ll just sleep for now. Next time, I won’t come back here again. As long as I stay away from such beautiful places, I can at least comfort myself that I’m also living a good life.

With this thought in mind, she quickly fell back asleep.

When she woke up again, there was no one beside her.

She woke up with a fright and sat straight up in bed.

Did I oversleep? Why aren’t Yuanyuan and Little Sprout here?

Just then, she heard footsteps coming from outside. “Aunty Han, maybe we shouldn’t bring Fei with us. I don’t think she was able to sleep well last night. When I woke up this morning, it looked like she was still deep in sleep. I called her a few times but she didn’t respond.”

“It’s almost time for her to wake up now. You’re her classmate. If you don’t take her with you, she will panic once she wakes up and doesn’t see you.”

After being reminded of that, Tang Yuanyuan suddenly had a realization. “Oh, you’re right. You’ve thought of everything, Aunty Han. Let’s go wake Fei up then.”

“Yes, go on.”

Meng Kefei automatically lay back down and closed her eyes. She was also unsure of why she did that, but she must have felt awkward since she overheard their whole conversation.

The door opened and Tang Yuanyuan walked in alone. Seeing Meng Kefei still lying in bed without moving, she mumbled, “Fei, you sleepyhead. I didn’t think you could sleep more than me.”

She took off her sneakers and climbed onto the bed to wake Meng Kefei.

“Fei, wake up!”

“Hmm?” Meng Kefei replied. She opened her eyes and looked at Tang Yuanyuan groggily.

“Yuanyuan?”

“Wake up. Are you still sleepy? We’re getting ready to go on an outing. We’ll be camping overnight at the top of a hill tonight; it’ll be really fun. Come with us.”

Meng Kefei never imagined that they would be going camping. She sat up in bed; she was slightly taken aback. “We’re going?”

“Yes, Yishu is taking us.”

Meng Kefei noticed that there was someone at the door. When she glanced over, Han Muzi smiled and looked at her with a warm gaze.

“You should go with them, dear.”

Meng Kefei nodded. “Okay.”

I’m already here. If I decline now, wouldn’t that seem rather unsociable?

Thereafter, she changed into some clothes that they prepared for her at the Ye residence and headed out with Tang Yuanyuan and Little Sprout. Yuchi Yishu was already waiting in the car for them outside. The tall young man sat in the driver’s seat with an unfazed expression. He was wearing a visor cap and a pair of sunglasses. His lips were sealed firmly together and his jawline looked perfect and stunning.

He’s so handsome, Meng Kefei thought.

“Yishu!”

Tang Yuanyuan was the first one to run up to him. She leaned in through the window and bumped her head against his cap. Her childish behavior made him chuckle and he poked her forehead with his index finger.

“You silly girl.”

She giggled. “Yishu, can I sit in the passenger seat?”

“Sure. But when we go pick Chufeng up later, I’ll have to sit in the passenger seat.”

“Then can I sit on your lap?”

Although Tang Yuanyuan was already a high school student, her world only consisted of three things—eating, sleeping, and Yishu. She did not know about the boundaries between men and women.

The corners of his eyes twitched when he heard her question to which he responded calmly, “Of course, not.”

“Why not?” She suddenly became upset and tears welled up in her eyes. “Do you not like me anymore, Yishu? Is that why you won’t let me?”

“No, it’s not that,” he tried to explain. “It’s because the passenger seat is too narrow and it won’t be convenient for the both of us to sit here together.”

After he finished explaining, he realized that her eyes were red and reached out to pinch her flushed and chubby cheeks. “Why have you started crying before I even finished explaining? Are you a crybaby?”

Upon hearing him call her a crybaby, she immediately held back her tears and grumbled, “I’m not a crybaby. Bad Yishu!”

Eventually, he got out of the car and walked over to her side to open the door for her. “Alright, just get in.”

Without a second thought, she dashed over and sat in the passenger seat. He hovered a hand over her head as she got in the car, then put on her seatbelt for her.

“Are you happy now, Your Majesty?”

“Thanks, Yishu!” She gave him a big smile and was so happy that she kept fidgeting with her fingers.

Meng Kefei watched them from not too far away and probed, “Have they always been like that?”

Little Sprout nodded and replied innocently, “Yeah. Yuanyuan grew up with us. Yishu sees her as his own sister.”

“But they’re not actually related by blood, right? How can he treat her as his own sister?”

Little Sprout pondered for a moment, then gave an answer that was identical to Tang Yuanyuan’s.

“Even though they’re not real siblings, they’re practically closer than most biological siblings.”

“Aren’t you… jealous?” Meng Kefei hesitated as she looked at Little Sprout. After all, she was Yuchi Yishu’s real sister. Did she not feel like it was unfair to see her own brother treat another girl so well?

“Jealous?” Little Sprout blinked. “Why would I be jealous? I like Yuanyuan too. Yuanyuan is so nice to me. She always thinks of me when it comes to food. I want to be nice to her too, but I never get the chance to. So it makes me happy to see Yishu treat her well.”

Meng Kefei let out a smile of relief. “You’re right.”
