Shen Qi’s ability was actually considered outstanding. With her past experience, she could sort information easily. However, the other lower rank staff didn’t know what she worked as in the past and had no idea that even if she was working with Ye Moxuan, she could keep up with him.
They only saw the surface, so they thought that Shen Qi was a woman who sold her body or used other means to get that position.
Now that the President was tired of her, he directly demoted her.
Currently, the supervisor was asking her to settle those documents just to make things difficult for her. Therefore, everyone gratified at her misfortune and was eager to enjoy seeing this demoted newcomer being humiliated on her first day of work. Perhaps she would even be terminated if they complained to Young Master Ye about her then.
Time passed by quickly. Ever since Shen Qi took the documents back, she had been sitting in front of the desk and sorting the information diligently, ignoring what the others gossiped about her behind her back.
When everyone saw that she remained composed, they could no longer stay calm and started to mock her again.
“Look at how she’s still pretending. Does she really believe that she will be able to sort all those documents within an hour?”
“Tsk tsk. Those documents are to be used in the meeting later. She’ll be doomed if something goes wrong then. No matter how composed she looks now, she’ll have to kneel and implore afterward.”
“Why hasn’t she moved? Does she really think she is that great?”
“There’s only ten minutes left to one hour. Hey, newcomer, you’re not too late if you beg for mercy now!”
Shen Qi turned a deaf ear to them. However, she started to feel the urge to go to the toilet after sitting for a long time. Glancing at the screen, she noticed that there was only a small part left to be done. Shen Qi used the last five minutes to sort all the documents out.
When she was done, she noticed that there was time left so she went to the toilet.
Once she left, the group of people from beside surrounded her desk.
“It seems like she has sorted it out.” One of the younger girls, Cui Minli, went forward to peep at the computer and realized that the information in it was neat.
“How is that possible?” Gao Yun gaped in surprise while staring in disbelief at the sorted-out documents in front of her. “Isn’t she a good-for-nothing? How can she sort it out in such a short amount of time? It’s not even an hour!”
Cui Minli bit her lower lip. “But Gao Yun, these are obviously sorted out. What should we do? Should we just allow her to exhibit her ability on the first day of her work at our department?”
“In her dreams!” Gao Yun sneered. “Qiang Wei has instructed us to give this newcomer a special treatment. She wants to pass this easily? Impossible!”
“So what should we do?” Cui Minli asked in a low voice.
Gao Yun showed a malicious smile.
After Shen Qi came back from the toilet and sat on her seat, her face was pale.
Although she took medicine regularly every day, her stomach would still sometimes be in discomfort. Perhaps it was also affected by her mood and daily schedule. Therefore, she must adjust her mentality for the sake of her child.
When Shen Qi wanted to print the documents, she realized that her screen was all black.
Her expression changed instantly. After clicking hard on the mouse several times, the screen was still black.
It seemed like her computer was turned off.
As expected, the screen was only turned on after Shen Qi pressed the power button once again. After waiting nervously for a minute, the computer was restarted. She clicked on the previous page only to find that all her documents that she had sorted out had been deleted by someone.
“Haha…” A few chuckles came from the side. When Shen Qi looked in that direction, she noticed Cui Minli and Gao Yu chuckling smugly. Noticing that she was looking at them, they even glared at her arrogantly, and they seemed like they were not the least bit worried that she would discover it was their doings.
Furrowing her delicate eyebrows, Shen Qi stood up abruptly. “You turned off my computer, didn’t you?”
Upon hearing that, Gao Yun stood up and glared back at Shen Qi while retorting arrogantly with crossed arms, “Do you have evidence that we turned off your computer? Your seat has not been occupied for a long time. The computer needs a long time to startup and runs into problems frequently. Who can you blame since you didn’t save your work after completing it?”
“Who says that I didn’t save it? You deleted all of it!” Shen Qi pointed it out in a cold tone.
“Did you witness us deleting it? The computer might have turned off itself due to an error or lost a file due to technical error. How can you blame it on us? Newcomer, you shouldn’t pass the buck to us because you can’t finish your work on time.”
Cui Minli stood up too and mocked sarcastically, “Pathetic. How could you blame others for your own poor abilities? No wonder you were demoted. Could it be that you’ve always blamed others every time you fail to complete the tasks assigned by your superior? If that’s the case, I bet you’ll be kicked out of Ye Group sooner or later. Or… why don’t you just be a cleaner? Don’t come to our department and waste our resources, will you? Don’t you know that electricity is needed to turn on one more computer?”
Gao Yun agreed with her wholeheartedly. Therefore, after exchanging a look, Gao Yun said with her palms spread, “One hour is almost up. When the supervisor looks for you later, let’s see what you can hand in. If you screw up, get lost from our department.”
Shen Qi took a deep breath. But before she could utter a word, the supervisor had approached.
“What’s the matter? Why are all of you standing here?” the supervisor questioned sternly.
“Supervisor Xu, you instructed this newcomer to sort out the information but she couldn’t make it in time. Most importantly, she didn’t even inform you earlier. Supervisor Xu, you need to hand in this information later, and the President needs it for the meeting!” Cui Minli quickly stepped forward and ratted on Shen Qi.
Gao Yun completely changed her previous arrogant attitude to a pitiful look now while saying, “Supervisor, why don’t you forgive her since she’s a newcomer? After all, not anyone can sort this kind of information. She was demoted, so she definitely doesn’t have the skills to do that. Let’s forgive her.”
The supervisor glared at Shen Qi and shouted angrily, “Are you trying to destroy me on the first day of your work?”
Shen Qi stood in place without a word because she knew that all her explanation now would be in vain. The superior was just pressuring her since she was a newcomer.
“Fine. Even if you wanted to destroy me, I will not be your scapegoat. You shall follow me to the meeting room and admit your mistakes today!” After that, the supervisor reached out his hand to grab Shen Qi’s arm.
But Shen Qi took a step back and dodged this man’s touch. Then, she spoke coldly, “I’ll walk on my own.”
The supervisor retracted his hand and replied impatiently, “Fine. Come with me now.”
With a poker face, Shen Qi walked back to grab her bag. Then, she plucked out a pendrive from the computer port and held it in her palm before leaving with the supervisor.
After they left, Cui Minli and Gao Yun chatted.
“Why did she go back and take her bag? And it seems like she took something from the computer.”
“I don’t know. Anyway, we’ve deleted all the documents, so why bother about what she took?”
